Today's update brings archived chats and a host of new and redesigned features — just in time for spring cleaning.

Tidy things up with archived chats by separating work from play, and important from inactive. Copy links to messages in private groups and channels to point back to specific posts. Redirect forwards before sending to keep messages for their intended audiences only. See who else is up past their bedtime with online badges.

Android users can now select multiple chats for bulk actions, quickly pinning, muting, archiving or deleting in one sweep. The app’s icon and menus have a new look and new functions — introducing an expanded chat list, quick forwarding button, and a more robust sharing menu supporting emoji.

iOS now accommodates 6-digit passcodes and a new look for large emoji, as well as the option to clear recently used stickers.

Today's update allows you to add entire group chats as exceptions to any privacy settings. Settings will adapt as people join or leave the groups.

We've also added a new privacy setting for Who Can See My Phone Number.

Channel admins can now link a discussion group to their channel. And developers can make bots that can seamlessly authorize you on web services.

Any public channel can now be viewed from the web, even without a Telegram account.

Telegram is six years old! 🥳

To celebrate, we locked six people in a room and gave them six hours to write this encyclopedia of Telegram (it took 24).

The latest update brings scheduled messages, better themes and more privacy for those who need it most.

Holding down the send button now gives the option to schedule a message. Choose the date and time, and let Telegram take care of the delivery. Set a reminder for yourself by scheduling something in your Saved Messages.

Cloud Themes allow you to create a unique combination of theme, wallpaper and accent color to quickly share across platforms and update for all who use it.

Keeping your phone number confidential has become more universal with the new setting Who Can Find Me By My Number. This additional layer of privacy prevents even people who add your contact information to their device from being able to match your profile to your number.

Animated emoji were expanded to include 😁, 😧, 😡, 💩, 😢 and 😮.

The new Telegram update – our 12th this year – has arrived, just in time to say goodbye to 2019.

In this new version (and new decade) say hello to verifiable builds, theme editor 2.0, send when online and plenty more.

The code of Telegram apps has always been open source, but starting today, you can verify the apps you download use the exact same code as we post on GitHub.

New year, new you, new look – you can now add custom gradients to your backgrounds and messages, explore more predefined color schemes and add detail with some of the new background patterns.

Scheduled Messages have a new option – Send When Online. Save yourself the guesswork of when your friend will wake up, and instead have your message arrive the next time they open the app.

When sharing a location, you can now easily select venues on your map instead of scrolling through a list. That's not even mentioning the new night mode maps to help you navigate in the dark.

Android and iOS got plenty more in their stockings and under the tree. Read the full blog to see all the changes, including a Quick Day/Night Toggle, Share Sheet Settings and Improved Search along with tons of new animations and redesigned interfaces.

Happy update to all, and to all a Happy New 2020: https://telegram.org/blog/verifiable-apps-and-more
