Telegram - це один з найпопулярніших месенджерів у сучасній Україні. Він є основним джерелом інформації для багатьох людей і навіть ЗМІ. Telegram має дещо спільне з іншими месенджерами: використовує вашу телефонну книгу для пошуку контактів, має опцію відео- та аудіодзвінків тощо. Але багато хто обирає цей месенджер, тому що він зручніший, швидший і найбільш свободний (у порівнянні з іншими месенджерами).
Telegram має багато технічних можливостей, але ми зупинимося лише на деяких з них, які знадобляться для розуміння даних, представлених у нашому архіві.
Презентація складається з чотирьох частин:
I) Які типи даних присутні або відсутні в архіві?
ІІ) Що таке чати і канали? І які особливості вони мають?
III) Чому важливо вчасно архівувати Telegram-канали та чати?
IV) Що таке чат-боти? Які їхні функції та можливості?
Презентація "Telegram features" базується на колективному досвіді створення Телеграм-архіву війни. Вперше вона була представлена під час воркшопу "Russia's War in Ukraine: Interdisciplinary Data Sprint with Telegram Archives " у грудні 2022 року.

These days you will probably hear how important Telegram is and that it is one of the essential messengers in modern Ukraine. It is the primary source of information for many people and even the media. Telegram as a messenger has something in common with other messengers. For example, it uses your phone book to find contacts, make video and audio calls, etc. But many choose this messenger because it is more convenient, faster, and has the most significant freedom among all available messengers.
Telegram has many technical features, but we will focus only on some of them, which we will need to understand the data represented in our archive.
The presentation will consist of four parts:
I) Types of data that are present or absent within the archive?
II) What are chats and channels? And what features do they have?
III) Why it's important to archive Telegram channels and chats on time?
IV) What are chatbots? And what are their roles and features?
The presentation "Telegram features" is based on the collective experience of creating the Telegram Archive of the War. It was first given during "Russia's War in Ukraine: Interdisciplinary Data Sprint with Telegram Archives" in December 2022.
