When one’s identity is attached to someone else’s reaction or
perception of you— it becomes an identity roller coaster. One
moment I am awesome. One moment I suck. One becomes a
slave to others’ opinions. In a twisted kind of way, one seeks
to please others in order to ultimately please oneself. It is a
subtle lie— but a violent one.
