2023 - People will now be eating insects without knowing it.
The EU has given permission for the new year 2023 to mix insects (home barbecues) in baked goods, pasta and other ready-made products "for the general population".
Although there is too little published knowledge regarding allergies and possible anaphylactic reactions, the EU Commission is of the opinion that there are no specific labelling regulations for possible allergic reactions have to be today.
However, those who have allergies to cancer animals, molluscles and household dust mites are likely to suffer allergic reactions when consuming products with mixed home grills.
It can also lead to new allergic reactions to the substrate that is fed to the insects.
Therefore, there is only one obligation to label if the product contains powder "Acheta domesticus".
This means: people have to experience for themselves that "Acheta domesticus" are powdered, mixed in house barbecues, and have to check for themselves whether they could have an allergic reaction to it.
Registration starts on the 24th January 2023

- Multi grain bread
- multi grain rolls
- crackers and breadsticks
- Cereal locks
- Dry pre-mixes for baked goods
- Cookies
- dry filled and unfilled dough products
- Sauces
- processed potato products
- Dishes based on leguminos and vegetables
- Pizza
- General products of pasta and dairy powder
- Meat analogues (vegetarian meat alternatives)
-Soups and soup concentrate, soup powder
- corn flour based snacks
- Drinks like beer
- Chocolate products, nuts and oil seeds
- Snacks (except chips) & meat preparations
