According to a new leak, Mediatek is launching Dimensity 9600 series in 3 versions:
• Dimensity 9600s
• Dimensity 9600 Pro
• Dimensity 9600 Pro Max
What’s interesting is that the 9600s may actually be a refreshed Dimensity 9500 built on TSMC’s N3P process. The Pro and Pro Max versions are said to use TSMC’s more advanced N2P process, with differences likely coming from higher clocks or different configurations.
If this leak is right, MediaTek is clearly preparing a wider flagship lineup to compete more aggressively with Qualcomm.
The first phones to use these chips may be the Vivo X500 series and the Oppo Find X10 series.
One more thing: the report says the new chip could cost around $215 more than the Dimensity 9500, which means phone prices may go up too.
