For a website that you have built locally, to be available on the internet and accessed by a custom url, domain and hosting are essential.

A Domain is the unique address people type into their browsers to visit a website, such as www.example.com. It serves as an online identity and makes it easier for users to find your site instead of memorizing an IP address. Domains are registered through domain registrars and often come with various extensions like .com, .org, .net, and country-specific options like .co.ke .ng .ug .zw .uk or .in. Choosing the right domain name is crucial as it reflects your brand and helps in building credibility.

Hosting is the service that allows your website to be accessible on the internet. When you purchase hosting, you're essentially renting space on a server where your website's files, databases, and other resources are stored. Web hosting providers offer different types of hosting, such as:
- Shared hosting (affordable but shared resources)
- VPS hosting (virtual private servers for more control)
- Dedicated hosting (a server solely for your site, ideal for high-traffic needs).
