πŸ”¬ First-ever robotic heart transplant in the U.S. - no cracked chest required

In a groundbreaking surgery, doctors at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center (Houston) perfomed the first heart transplant in the U.S. using robotic tools without opening the chest.
πŸ’‘ Instead of splitting the breastbone, surgeons made a small incision in the abdomen and used robotic arms to remove the failing heart and place the donor heart.

βœ… The patient - a 45-year-old man with severe heart failure - is already back to daily life.
This method lowers the risk of complications and helps patients recover faster.

🌍 Fun fact: this is only the second surgery of its kind in the world, the first was in Saudi Arabia in 2024.

We are in an era of survival of the fittest and elimination of the weakest. In order not to be on the side of the weak, we must at least overcome ourselves.

The world is not for the weak.

One thing that many aspiring software engineers struggle with is self-doubt.

The industry is constantly changing, and they realize that they have more to learn than they ever thought possible. This means that they don’t know enough about this until they know what to do next, so they’re stuck with the idea that there’s still a lot to learn.

When I first joined Excellerent, I worked for a company called Engage2Excel in Canada. I was good at Angular and .net core at the time. With energy and a lot of passion.

When I met our team members, I realized that the senior team leaders were from Canada and had worked in companies like Microsoft and Google and had many years of experience.

At that time, I realized that I was doubting myself and that it might be a challenge. Of course, the architecture they use is clear. The code quality is the same. Above all, the team in Canada is always ready to collaborate, whether it is my friends or my friends.

However, work started. As I feared, there were new things. For example, I didn’t know what unit testing was before, except for the name. They use husky to do pre-commit checks. Not only that, but when you send a pull request, you can also use sonarqube in the pipeline. It can give you a bad code smell.

I got more than ten comments on the first pull request I sent. It was to test my self-confidence πŸ˜‚

But then I realized that I had a lot of homework. One of the hardest things was learning React, and that was unit testing,
think about writing code with 100% code coverage.

Within 3 weeks everything was sorted out. Pressure and problems are good teachers. I still don't understand why we become a flame when the deadline comesπŸ˜‚

After that, I kept refining it. When I joined exelia, I was the Architect of Lubelink platform. The knowledge I gained under that pressure has helped me a lot.

I brought up this story for a reason. This will come with you, things are not as hard as you think. But it is important to always learn and give credit for the distance you have come, even if you feel self-doubt, you are not that weak.
