Is the memory market crisis OVER?

RAM prices began to decline rapidly after OpenAI refused to fulfill its obligation to purchase memory chips and terminated its agreement with Samsung and SK Hynix in the amount of $71 billion.

It turned out that in October 2025, Sam Altman simultaneously signed agreements with Samsung and SK Hynix to supply 900,000 DRAM plates per month, which is 40% of the global supply.

These "deals" actually turned out to be only statements of intent, not binding purchase orders, but the market perceived them as real and the prices for memory flew into space.

Google's TurboQuant algorithm, which was recently introduced, also plays in favor of falling prices, allowing AI models to reduce RAM consumption by up to 6 times.
