Kommersant has undergone a sudden redesign! The website retains its traditional, strict typography characteristic of classic business journalism, but features a much airier layout, larger headlines, and a neat grid that holds up well on both wide monitors and smartphones.

What else has changed:

• The font pairing is now more contrasting: headlines are bold and assertive, subheadings are calm, and the main text is highly readable.
• The color accents are subtle: the blue-black branding sets priorities without being overwhelming.
• The dark theme finally looks like a true dark theme, rather than just a dimly lit screen.
• The article cards are noticeably larger, and the navigation through sections is flat and predictable: no unnecessary clicks or hidden menus.

If you come across a breaking news story and are puzzled about the controversy, the "More Context" button will help.

Meme: SpaceX asked investors for billions for chips and data centers, simply showing them pictures of space.

In a letter to creditors, the company included images of outer space with an arrow indicating that the servers would be placed "somewhere in the universe."

Some funds have already refused to give Musk money because they expected to see financial reports instead of photographs.

Parents have learned to send circles. It's time for a serious upgrade.

For instance, you can introduce them to the new HUAWEI WATCH D3*, which are now available for purchase at M.Video. The watch strap conceals a real mechanical cuff for measuring blood pressure. Moreover, the watch can automatically take measurements several times a day and remind users to check their pressure. Now, you only need to remind mom about the gift.

If your parents also go to workouts, show them how to measure their blood pressure before and after exercise to compare the results. Just make sure to set aside enough time to familiarize them with all the features. Or record an instruction in a circle format — they’ve definitely got that down by now.

* HUAWEI WATCH D3 is not a medical device.

It will become more difficult for IT professionals to relocate to the United States: Microsoft, Adobe, and several other big tech companies have been prohibited from hiring foreign workers under the green card program.

The U.S. Department of Labor will halt the processing of all current and new applications. Employees of these companies with H-1B visas will no longer be granted U.S. permanent residency based on their employment.

Following this, the White House intends to take action against foreign nationals at Harvard, Yale, and Stanford.

VibeCoder has discovered a new planet using Claude Code — no, this is not a joke. NASA has even accepted his data for verification.

Pavel was studying images from the TESS telescope when he noticed a strange signal from a star located 116 light-years away from Earth. Claude Code downloaded and analyzed the archive, wrote code, and created graphs.

At first, the guy was suspected of experiencing an AI-induced delusion. However, exoplanet researchers joined the thread and confirmed that the signal could indeed belong to a new planet.

For now, Pavel's finding has candidate status. Observations based on his application will begin through TESS at the end of October.

OpenAI fired three AI safety researchers in just one week. Prior to this, they had been assisting in the investigation of the Hugging Face hack and warning about the potential loss of control over models.

Two of the researchers had been communicating with external auditors regarding the safety of new models. Ultimately, they were accused of losing trust. Another female researcher was let go for reading management’s emails—despite the fact that management had granted her access.

Former employees are concerned that OpenAI is gradually shutting down external oversight of AI. Meanwhile, those who remain fear that management will start checking their personal phones.

Meme: Jeff Bezos has claimed that AI could enable a three-day workweek and allow people to earn more—on the very same day, Amazon laid off 1,000 employees.

According to Bezos, advancements in AI will not lead to unemployment but rather a shortage of workers. Companies will face a lack of staff, allowing people to work less.

For reference, in the past two years, Amazon has cut 30,000 jobs. At the very least, they have already allowed themselves to work less.

One of the fathers of cyberpunk shared that "tech bros" constantly thank him for his inspiration.

To provide some context, Gibson wrote about the misuse of technology and corporations that control the world instead of governments.

Now, CEOs from Silicon Valley consider his books to be utopian.

Will PS5 exclusives become a thing of the past? The AnyPS5 project is actively being developed on GitHub, aimed at running Sony games on PC. The most interesting part is that it's not an emulator.

It works similarly to Proton on the Steam Deck, which allows Windows games to run on Linux. Essentially, AnyPS5 modifies game files for PC, so, unlike emulators, everything should run more smoothly.

So far, only one game has been fully operational— the platformer Dreaming Sarah, which achieves 60 FPS even on an old GTX 1050 Ti.

The project has successfully deconstructed 100% of the PS5 graphics, and about 95-97% of the console's core system functions have been rewritten.

Anthropic and OpenAI are preparing for a major "AI disaster": developers of neural networks are working through scenarios where society and authorities turn against them.

Insiders at Axios suggest that the most likely scenario is a global cyberattack, which could disrupt banking services, the internet, and even public utilities. Such a crisis is predicted to occur within the next 6 to 12 months.

Following this, there may be attempts to ban AI or freeze its development. As a result, companies are already collaborating with politicians to influence future legislation.
