A hacker used AI agents to steal data from over 600,000 credit cards from online stores.

The hacker only provided the agents with short prompts. After that, the agents independently identified vulnerable websites and embedded code to steal card information.

The entire operation was managed by Opus 4.6, which infected at least 119 websites. To find targets, the hacker utilized a tool called Strix, which is intended to help defend against hacks.
