Under standard keyboard settings, such requests are blocked. This suggests that GPT-6 Astra already understands more than the systems monitoring it.

A MacBook can be crashed with just one link: a developer has found a way to block the macOS interface using a simple web page.

The technique is called Deathray — it triggers an infinite loop on the GPU, which overloads the GPU and the WindowServer that renders the entire interface. The only solution is to restart the device. Apple has acknowledged the issue but does not consider it a serious threat.

The first domestic 5G station has been connected to a commercial network: MTS and "IRTEYA" demonstrated its operation in Yekaterinburg.

The station was launched at the operator's booth during the International Youth Festival. Any subscriber with a 5G smartphone can test mobile internet speeds of up to 840 Mbps there.

The Russian hardware has proven compatible with stations from other vendors. This means that 5G can be developed on top of the existing network rather than starting from scratch. MTS already has over a thousand "IRTEYA" stations operating in LTE bands, and plans to purchase several hundred more for high-speed networks.

A former OpenAI employee has introduced a new generation of AI: their Jev model works 200 times faster than regular LLMs for certain tasks.

Here's a brief overview of what the startup TypeSafe AI, led by Diogo Almeida, has accomplished:

- Jev does not generate responses sequentially; instead, it provides structured results with probabilities.
- This means that the model cannot hallucinate. It selects the most trustworthy response from pre-existing options, although Jev can still choose an incorrect option.
- For this reason, the model is very fast. It was tested playing DOOM: the model received data about the game's events and made approximately 10 decisions per second.
- Additionally, it is significantly cheaper. One million input tokens cost only $0.042, while output tokens are free. During the game test, Jev only spent $7 per hour.

- "Our last tool broke foolishly — we chose slabs, right-clicked, and 15 seconds of indecision cost us our lives."

Additionally, she developed a paranoia about creepers — Astra spent extra resources to differentiate between all the green items.
