💥Fudan University of China in Shanghai presented its humanoid robot Guanghua 1, capable of displaying facial expressions, at the WAIC 2024 event.
📌Researchers have developed a device for caring for the elderly and providing medical services.
▪️Guanghua 1 is about 165 cm tall and weighs 62 kg.
▪️The device is equipped with 45 intelligent joints, in which a hierarchical generative brain model was implemented, allowing the robot to masterfully control its movements.
▪️The robot is capable of displaying four emotions on the face screen: happiness, anger, sadness and joy.
✅Large-scale tests of the robot are currently underway. It is expected that the first trial industrial model may appear by the end of 2024. The research team also said they will continue to work on improving the functionality of Guanghua 1.

💥The world's first remote robotic surgery was performed in China to treat a patient with lung cancer and remove a tumor.
📌The surgery was performed using a 5G network with high speed and low latency, allowing Professor Luo Qingquan, a leading expert in robotic surgery, to perform the surgery remotely from a distance of about 5,000 km.
🤖During the surgery, Professor Luo Qingquan controlled the surgical robot through a special console at Shanghai Chest Hospital using a 3D screen and the main controller. This allowed him to observe the patient's chest cavity in real time and accurately manipulate the robot.
✅The surgery lasted about 1 hour and was successful.
