A new smartphone called HIROH Phone powered by de-googled /e/OS for ultimate privacy has been announced in the US. It features a kill switch buttons for privacy first, which will electronically disable camera and microphone and a second switch to kill off GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth. No software can override this.
There's also a One-click "Privacy Lockdown Mode" for instant protection. Additionally, all data is encrypted by default. A malformed audio file can trigger an out-of-bounds write due to integer overflow in evolution data handlingโleading to memory corruption and crashes.
Android decodes audio messages locally, making this exploitable without user interaction.
Reproduction: Just send a crafted RCS voice message (dolby_android_crash.mp4)
