Here's how Apple solved the antennagate problem with the iPhone 4.
Back in 2010 when the iPhone 4 came out, some people discovered you could grip the phone in a certain way and the signal bars would plummet from 5 to, like, 2.
Apple at that time responded in a number of ways, including Steve Jobs famously suggesting that users were holding the phone wrong, but the issue was resolved by changing just 20 bytes of code.
Apple also published a blog where they admitted that, they made an error in the formula responsible for displaying the number of signal strength bars.
Due to this antennagate problem, Apple was forced to offer buyers a free bumper case as well as settle a class action lawsuit in the US.
Now after 15 years, a software engineer and designer dug into that 20 bytes of code to figure out what Apple actually changed to fix the problem.
If you are interested in understanding the fix, check out the thread below where the guy posted his findings. It's a worthy read, especially for network engineers.

Our formula, in many instances, mistakenly displays 2 more bars than it should for a given signal strength. For example, we sometimes display 4 bars when we should be displaying as few as 2 bars. Users observing a drop of several bars when they grip their iPhone in a certain way are most likely in an area with very weak signal strength, but they don’t know it because we are erroneously displaying 4 or 5 bars. Their big drop in bars is because their high bars were never real in the first place.

Today's my birthday.. and I wanna share my gift with you :P
After a few weeks of work, I’m proud to present a bootloader unlock for the first‑generation Echo Show 5 (2019). It’s fully software‑driven (as long as your unit isn’t bricked) and uses a new exploit based on amonet.
Huge thanks to @AntiEngineer, as always, this wouldn’t have been possible without his hardware work.
Also thanks to Joel for finding the exploit I built on, I extended it into a one‑command unlock that runs through fastboot and allows people to unlock their units even if BROM USBDL is disabled!
Please read the instructions carefully. A single mistake can cause a permanent (hard) brick. I accept no responsibility for any damage to your device.
Have fun and happy hacking!

Meta introduced React Foundation under the Linux Foundation
Meta open-sourced React over a decade ago to help developers build better user experiences and today, React and React Native are getting a new home -- React Foundation.
Several projects within the React ecosystem, including React and React Native, as well as supporting projects such as JSX, will transition to the React Foundation which is a part of the Linux Foundation. The React Foundation will maintain React’s infrastructure, organize React Conf, and create initiatives to support the React ecosystem
The React Foundation’s governing board will consist of representatives from Amazon, Callstack, Expo, Meta, Microsoft, Software Mansion, and Vercel, with the intention to expand further over time.
There will be a clear separation between the business and technical governance of React. Releases, features, and technical direction will be governed by a new structure driven by the maintainers and contributors of React. This new technical governance structure will be independent of the React Foundation. The React team is actively working on this new technical governance structure and will share more details in a future post on the React blog.
Meta is committing to a 5 year partnership with the React Foundation, including over $3 million in funding and dedicated engineering support.
Meta will continue to invest in React and use it as their primary tool for building UI on the web and across many of Meta’s apps. Meta will also continue to have a dedicated team of engineers working full-time on React and React Native.

If yoh are expecting anything from Transission, it turns out they even have a function called as Fake Dual camera 😭😭😭
Device: Tecno Poca 4 Pro which features 50MP main camera with a secondary AI lens bs
I can see how well the blackberry will go if Transission plans to release any smartphone with Blackberry's name.

This Discord Zendesk compromise has gotten more silly.
Previously, the Threat Actors responsible for the Discord Zendesk compromise claimed they had gotten access by compromising a BPO (Business Process Outsource) employee.
They were not lying.
It turns out that in August the Threat Actors who compromised Discord began sending emails to Discord outsourced employees offering them money in exchange for access to Discords internals.
The people they emailed was a very small team located in Southeast Asia. This particular office only has a handful of employees assigned to working Discord helpdesk (including age verification). This team is assigned to primarily handle back log work. This team had a great deal of access and were believed to be "trusted".
One of the emails this small team received offered $500 compensation to prove they're a Discord BPO employee. They offered an additional "several thousand dollar" lump sum payment in exchange for giving them access.
The Discord BPO employees were told to ignore the emails. Unfortunately, it appears one of these BPO employees did not ignore the emails and accepted the bribe.
$500 in this Southeastern Asian country is an astronomical amount of money. The "several thousand dollar" lump sum payment would be enough for this person to live comfortably for several years in their country.
