What will happen with Intel ?

Microsoft has modified the Windows 11 setup process to enforce the use of a Microsoft account and an active internet connection during the Out-of-Box Experience (OOBE). Previously available workarounds for creating a local account, such as the β€œstart ms-cxh:localonly” command and the β€œbypassnro” trick, no longer function in recent test builds. Microsoft states these methods often led users to bypass essential configuration steps, resulting in improperly configured devices. The company now mandates internet connectivity and a Microsoft account for both Home and Pro editions.

So how to create a local account now?

There is one method that works and has always worked: Answer file/Autounattend.xml. This is what you should use in my opinion. This solution is designed for deployment, and unlikely will be disabled or removed.

In response to user feedback, Microsoft now permits custom naming of the default user folder (C:\Users\<name>) during installation. This feature is accessible only through the command line: users press Shift + F10 on the sign-in screen, navigate to the OOBE directory, and execute SetDefaultUserFolder.cmd with a valid name. The name must contain no more than 16 Unicode characters and exclude special symbols. If unspecified, Windows generates the folder name from the Microsoft account email address.

Weird stuff going on. This is a CRAZY anime arc. I beg you to read this post. This shit is crazy.

Check this shit out

June 16th, 2025: Phrack reports suspected offensive state-sponsored activity from China and/or North Korea targeting South Korea. They notify KR-CERT (Defense Counterintelligence Command).

*In other words, evidence of China and/or North Korea successfully hacking companies in South Korea.

June 26th, 2025: South Korean government responds

July 17th, 2025: Phrack notifies KISA, Ministry of Unification, LG Uplus Corp, KR-CERT about offensive operations from China and/or North Korea

August 15th, 2025: Phrack e-mails terminated from Proton.

September 9th, 2025: Everyone starts screaming at Proton on social myself (us included). Proton apologizes and re-instates Phracks Proton e-mail

... then the twist

September 24th, 2025: South Korean parliament launches an investigation into the allegations against China and/or North Korea. They want to investigate the companies which were compromised

September 25th, 2025: South Korean government says they are going to perform an on-site inspection on several of the alleged compromised facilities

September 26th, 2025: A government data center is burned to the ground. 96 servers destroyed. All evidence gone. This includes evidence of China and/or North Korean offensive operations.

September 27th, 2025: Server fire reported to be caused by a Lithium-ion battery. The batteries that caused the fire were made by one of the companies which was compromised by China and/or North Korea

October 2nd, 2025: Another location which was believed to be compromised by China and/or North Korea is burned to the ground. All evidence gone.

October 2nd, 2025: A South Korean government official who was appointed to manage these inspections and overviews commits suicide

What the fuck is going on? How did a simple Lithium-ion battery burn an entire data center to the ground? Is it weird that another massive data center burned to the ground a few days later? Why did these fires only impact servers which were believed to be hacked by China and/or North Korea? Why are government officials killing themselves? Why the fuck is this not getting more attention? Why does my tummy hurt?

A threat hacker from the secret forums website, allegedly selling the source code, including the tools they use (eg. unlocking bootloader, edl authentication, etc.)

There's no further announcement from Huawei yet, and the source was sold now. The revenue is around $98.5B, and sold it for $1K only.

Here's how Apple solved the antennagate problem with the iPhone 4.

Back in 2010 when the iPhone 4 came out, some people discovered you could grip the phone in a certain way and the signal bars would plummet from 5 to, like, 2.

Apple at that time responded in a number of ways, including Steve Jobs famously suggesting that users were holding the phone wrong, but the issue was resolved by changing just 20 bytes of code.

Apple also published a blog where they admitted that, they made an error in the formula responsible for displaying the number of signal strength bars.
Our formula, in many instances, mistakenly displays 2 more bars than it should for a given signal strength. For example, we sometimes display 4 bars when we should be displaying as few as 2 bars. Users observing a drop of several bars when they grip their iPhone in a certain way are most likely in an area with very weak signal strength, but they don’t know it because we are erroneously displaying 4 or 5 bars. Their big drop in bars is because their high bars were never real in the first place.

Due to this antennagate problem, Apple was forced to offer buyers a free bumper case as well as settle a class action lawsuit in the US.

Now after 15 years, a software engineer and designer dug into that 20 bytes of code to figure out what Apple actually changed to fix the problem.

If you are interested in understanding the fix, check out the thread below where the guy posted his findings. It's a worthy read, especially for network engineers.
