After seeing Epic Games CEO β€” Tim Sweeney tweets, it should be the first time we're live witnessing a CEO going insane

Epic Games CEO claims that Find My feature is "super creepy and surveillance and should NOT exist" because when the CEO's Macbook got stolen by a kid from his car, now years after the incident, Apple still shows where the Macbook is currently located.

For this tweet, Tim Sweeney even got Community noted because acc. to him, Find My is actually illegal and finding your own device is tracking and surveillance ??? πŸ˜πŸ’€

Now, Tim Sweeney has claimed that Apple's .DS store and Microsoft's System Volume Information are "essentially tracking malware". 😭😭

In reality, .DS store in MacOS stores metadata about how the folder’s contents should be displayed, such as Icon positions, Window size & layout preferences, file's sorting order etc. and Microsoft's System Volume information is used for system restore, indexing service, volume shadow copy etc

BREAKING: Xiaomi Plans To Stop Offering Bootloader Unlocking

Following a fake news last year related to shutting down bootloader unlocking to smartphones launched after May, 2024, now, even famous leakers are claiming that internally, Xiaomi has indeed made plans to shutdown the bootloader unlocking service for global users by the end of 2025.

For China, since the Bootloader unlocking period was over last month, it will again resume after Xiaomi 15 series global launch in 2025. Xiaomi already collects a lot of data to identify which user in China unlocked the bootloader but since that can't be done globally, Xiaomi might ultimately shut down the service for them.

If this happens, the following changes will take place on Earth:
β€’ RIP Xiaomi federations
β€’ People will think 1000 times before buying due to HypeOS
β€’ Some users will finally understand that hardware-quality matters more that on-paper specs and cheap price
β€’ NO Xiaomi buildbots

Breaking: the Judge in the Epic v Google case has just issued his final ruling, which states that Google must open up its Play Store catalog to 3P app stores and distribute those 3P app stores within Google Play.

The judge also ruled that Google can't require Google Play app billing, stop developers from telling users about other ways to pay, stop developers from linking to alternative distribution methods, and more.

These are HUGE changes, the implications of which will be massive to Google's Play Store business.

Highly recommend reading The Verge's coverage for the full breakdown!

Google has announced that they are appealing this decision and asking the court to pause Epic's requested changes to the Play Store and Android.

The wayback machine has been compromised

Final update and confirmations:

The compromise has been confirmed via BleepinComputer and TroyHunt. 31,000,000 users impacted. There is no confirmed information on how the site was compromised. No Threat Actor(s) have been attributed to the compromise. More information is available on their respective social media platforms. More information will probably become available in the following hours or days.

Unrelated to the defacement and compromise, Sn_darkmeta claims to have been DDoSing Internet Archive. They state they're DDoSing the website because the United States government supports Israel and The Internet Archive belongs (?) to the United States.

🚨🚨🚨SN_BLACKMETA is behind the attack on Internet Archive

The reason why they attacked Internet Archive is because acc to them, the Internet Archive is NOT a non-profit organization as it belongs to the US & they supports Israel. Thus they heavily attacked it for 5hrs continuously making the wayback machine down worldwide.

I can clearly see that the hackers are broke, mentally ill persons & needs a psychiatrist asap because their thinking is :-

" We (the world) are protesting & crying because they disabled a free service".
(Quite funny how hackers didn't know Internet Archive is a great way to preserve things for the future aka archive it.)

They also thinks that whole world is a fool because Gaza & Palestine are in wars with Israel & we are not supporting them or mourning for deaths either by wars".

We have never seen a DDoS group receive such vitrolic hatred. It's heartwarming as people from all across the planet, unite for ... hatred that hackers even disabled the comments now.

I have a lot of questions now

Update: the reason this existed was because Discord wanted a native app like Telegram but they cancelled the plans later after realizing official Telegram is shit & broken as well.

Google is preparing to let you run Linux apps on Android, just like Chrome OS

The company is working on a Terminal app that downloads, configures, runs, and interfaces with an instance of Debian in a VM.

Here's a demo of Android's in-development Terminal app for running Linux apps!

The Terminal app currently doesn't automatically download and configure the Linux VM for you, so the developer who sent me this had to use the LinuxInstaller app to download Debian.

(I sped the video up a bit in the middle because it takes some time to boot the VM for the first time.)

FINALLY! Chrome for Android is once again adding support for moving the address bar to the bottom.

This feature is working in the latest Canary build if you toggle the #android-bottom-toolbar flag. You can then change the address bar location in settings.

Google is testing a new version of Chrome for Android with extensions support

The new Desktop Android project brings browser extensions support to Chrome for Android, but there's a catch: It's not intended for mobile devices at the moment.

More details on this new project can be found in my latest article on Android Authority.
