iPhone 16 Pro visits Geekbench with A18 Pro chip

The Geekbench result shows that Apple A18 chip that powers the base iPhone 16 and 16 Plus is more powerful than the A17 Pro used in iPhone 15 Pro Max. The A18 chip already defeated the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 in single-core scores

CPU:
2x Performance @ 4.04GHz
4x Efficiency cores
So, a hexa-core SoC manufactured by TSMC on its latest 2nd Gen 3 nm node

Both Apple A18 Pro and A18 chip got same CPU cores. But, the A18 chip gets NEW 5‑core GPU and NEW 16‑core Neural Engine. However, compared to A18 Pro chip used to power iPhone 16 Pro models, the A18 chip has one fewer GPU core. It only has five instead of six included with the A18 Pro.

So Apple didn’t actually set out to create two different chips for the iPhone 16 and 16 Pro. Instead, the company probably is doing chip binning which mean Pro models gets the BEST variation of the same chip

Quite funny how Apple destroyed the Photography Kit made by Xiaomi and Vivo for their flagships, just with a "pressure-based" camera control capacitive buttons with gorgeous animations and deep software support.

This photography kit costed around 100$ by the way. Let's see which Chinese brand becomes the first to COPY the iPhone's camera control button

iPhone 16 series supports 45W fast charging

According to a new certification from the China Quality Certification Centre, all iPhone 16 models support up to 45W of wired fast charging which is 50% faster than 29W on iPhone 15 series

Apple did mention in their event that MagSafe can now deliver up to 25W when paired with the right power adapter, but nothing about wired charging.

This make Google Pixels, the slowest wired charging smartphones now
