First Look at the Nothing Phone 2a Community Edition
Nothing announced The Community Edition Project for its Phone 2a in March wherein the community members will co-create a new variant of the Phone (2a).
The project is divided into 4 stages: hardware design, wallpaper design, packaging design, and a marketing campaign.
Winners at each stage will collaborate with the Nothing team.
Now that stages 1 and 2 are over, Nothing has given us the first look at the phone 2a Community Edition prototype
Phone 2a will have a luminescence back which will glow in the dark. Thus, the Nothing team is trying different combinations of tinted back panels with different luminescent colours.
There will also be a series of wallpapers inspired by the Phone 2a community edition design. “Luminescence, phosphorescence, iridescence - they are all the same."
The winner of the 3rd stage: Packing Design will be decided through the community voting. Community voting is now open here until 28th June!

South Korea Network Carrier attacks customers with malware including disabling PCs
One of the largest telecom providers in South Korea, KT (Korea Telecom) deliberately infected their own 600,000 users with malware over their use of torrent services.
The issue began in May 2020 when Webhard, a Korean cloud service provider, was inundated with user complaints of unexplained errors. The company discovered that its Grid Program, which relies on BitTorrent peer-to-peer file sharing, had been compromised & only KT users are affected.
"What the malware does on the user’s PC is to create strange folders or make files invisible. It completely disables the Webhard program itself.
In some cases, the PC itself was also disabled because of it.”
KT said it directly planted the malware on its customers that use Webhard’s Grid Service, as it was a malicious program, and that “it had no choice but to control it.”
Thus, instead of blocking IP addresses, KT nuked Grid Service users with malware.

At this stage, they have provided their research group with materials from 4 different concept graphics, the research group is asked about the impressions and "prestige" of shown client appearance.
One of the concepts out of 4 looks exactly like Discord's current design because they asked if people would still like actual Discord or want to see some changes. Discord wants to make its interface more exclusive

The new wearable is called as OnePlus Watch 2 in China and globally it will be called OnePlus Watch 2R.
The Global OnePlus Watch 2 is called Oppo Watch 2 in China
This OnePlus Watch 2R has similar specs as the OnePlus Watch 2. However, this also features e-SIM support which the Global OnePlus Watch 2 does NOT have.
This runs on Oppo's ColorOS instead of Google's WearOS in China
In design, the OnePlus Watch 2R has an aluminium alloy case design unlike the Watch 2 which has a stainless steel design. Also, this variant does NOT feature an asymmetrical side made for the buttons like the Watch 2 has.
OnePlus Watch 2R is priced at ¥1,799 (~ $250).
This makes it around $50 cheaper than the Watch 2 ($299).
