Apple Pencil Pro Announced

Apple introduced the Pencil Pro, the company’s latest stylus for its iPads.

Apple has integrated a new sensor in the barrel that can sense a user’s squeeze. Users can quickly switch tools, line weights, and colors by squeezing.

There’s also a haptic engine that confirms your action when users squeeze or double-tap.

Apple Pencil Pro also features a gyroscope that allows users to roll the stylus for precise control in changing the orientation of the shaped pen and brush tools, just like pen and paper
A hover functionality that lets you preview exactly where your Apple Pencil will touch down on your display.

Additionally, Apple has added the Find My App feature, letting users easily find misplaced Pencil Pro.

However, the Apple Pencil Pro is NOT backward compatible and only works with the latest 6th iPad Air and the new iPad Pro models

Weighs: 20g
Price: US$ 129/ Rs. 11,900

An unconfirmed rumour from insider: The OLED display on the iPad Pro is a sample from Samsung Display for testing Galaxy Tab Ultra displays
Source

Apart from Samsung Display, 2/3rd of the display for the iPad Pro has been supplied by LG Display

Samsung is also planning to launch an 'Ultra' variant of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 series
It might also pack the anti-reflective coating used on the Galaxy S24 Ultra with the Corning Gorilla Glass Armor protection

Samsung is also testing Under-Display-Camera (UDC) on the Tab S10 series. It will powered by the latest Snapdragon processor and is scheduled to be released next year
(likely alongside the Galaxy S25 series if it doesn't get delayed)

Google Gemini is working on a YouTube Music extension

The YouTube Music extension in Gemini will allow you to play, search, and discover your favorite songs, artists, playlists, and more. You can search for songs, play a radio for a mood, and discover new music.

When you enable the extension, Gemini will get access to data from your YouTube Music account, like your playlists, playback history, and preferences. Information from YouTube Music could also be shared with other extensions if that data is included in your conversation.

The YouTube Music extension for Gemini will also differ from the “Music Provider” feature, which lets you set the default app for playing music.

🤫 A story shared by Jack Dorsey, the founder of Twitter, uncovered that the current leaders of Signal, an allegedly “secure” messaging app, are activists used by the US state department for regime change abroad 🥷

🥸 The US government spent $3M to build Signal’s encryption, and today the exact same encryption is implemented in WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Google Messages and even Skype. It looks almost as if big tech in the US is not allowed to build its own encryption protocols that would be independent of government interference 🐕‍🦺

🕵️‍♂️ An alarming number of important people I’ve spoken to remarked that their “private” Signal messages had been exploited against them in US courts or media. But whenever somebody raises doubt about their encryption, Signal’s typical response is “we are open source so anyone can verify that everything is all right”. That, however, is a trick 🤡

🕵️‍♂️ Unlike Telegram, Signal doesn’t allow researchers to make sure that their GitHub code is the same code that is used in the Signal app run on users’ iPhones. Signal refused to add reproducible builds for iOS, closing a GitHub request from the community. And WhatsApp doesn’t even publish the code of its apps, so all their talk about “privacy” is an even more obvious circus trick 💤

🛡 Telegram is the only massively popular messaging service that allows everyone to make sure that all of its apps indeed use the same open source code that is published on Github. For the past ten years, Telegram Secret Chats have remained the only popular method of communication that is verifiably private 💪

Last month, Google confirmed to me that the Pixel 8 & 8 Pro can be located on the Find My Device network even if they're powered off or have run out of battery!

Today, I checked if the new Pixel 8a will also support this, and I found evidence it will! You can read more about this feature in my latest article for Android Authority.
