Xiaomi smartphones offer the Worst Charging Solution
You may have seen Xiaomi smartphones failing to boot/charge after battery goes to 0%
Even the flagship Mi 13 Ultra with its 90W charger or mid-rangers like the Poco F5 does NOT charge at all but charges through PC/Laptop or using a 5W charger
Internally this problem is known as "PD Handshake not completing" (Although it did NOT even go to the handshake point) & occurs only when using a Xiaomi stock charger (30W+) & cable
Xiaomi cables are NOT PD certified but instead are PD compliant and they even implement DRM on their cable 💀 which is being managed via a binary called "batterysecret"
Here's what basically happens:
The phone tries to boot as a "charger" boot target, but since the voltage is too low, it's in blackout mode
Since there's literally NO pumping going on, it simply runs in normal USB power supply mode, which is basically the same as it is connected to a laptop and waiting for it to even get 1%
Since the phone does NOT reach userspace, there's absolutely NO way for it to start authentication at all ({ANDROIDBOOT_ROOT}/vendor/bin/batterysecret), it's not even a bootloader-level problem, it's handled in "android" itself
Another issue is that the Xiaomi charger is "extremely" slow to respond, causing USB collapse to happen that is disabled in the kernel but NOT in UEFI
Thus it causes constant USB disconnect & the phone NEVER charges
Xiaomi-PD is literally renamed PPS because Xiaomi could NOT afford to pay for certification & it is NOT USB PD certified either
While this problem is "kinda" fixed in the Xiaomi 14 series, older devices will NOT get a QoL update for this issue

Apple to pay $490 million in lawsuit claiming Tim Cook defrauded shareholders by concealing iPhone demand fall
Apple has settled a class-action lawsuit for $490 million, alleging CEO Tim Cook concealed declining iPhone demand in China, resulting in a $9 billion revenue forecast slash due to U.S.-China trade tensions in January 2019. Pending approval from U.S. District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers, the settlement covers investors who bought shares two months before Cook's comments about China's market outlook. The case is In re Apple Inc Securities Litigation, No. 19-02033, in the Northern District of California.
The settlement concludes accusations that Cook misled shareholders, leading to a 10% share drop and $74 billion market value loss. Despite the substantial settlement, equivalent to under two days of Apple's net income, the company's market value has surged to over $2.6 trillion since the incident in January 2019.

Lava has signed an MoU with IIT Madras
"For the next 6 months, there will be around 500 Lava-designed and manufactured phones running on Bharat operating system (BharOS) which will be used to assess app performance," said Lava's R&D President
The top Lava executive said the adoption of BharOS could bring "complete transformation or disruption" in the smartphone industry as it would offer users an alternative to the Android OS by Google.
Karthik Ayyar, the founder of BharOS developer JandK Operations said "We have currently been focusing on 5G enablement of BharOS & looking at different variants of our BharOS"
For example, BharOS could be used in Network devices and Routers
