HMD has announced a partnership with Mattel (UNO maker) and Barbie for the Barbie Flip Phone, which will arrive this summer 2024 (May)
NO pricing, specs, or features were announced for the unnamed Barbie phone, but expect it to be a traditional feature flip phone rather than an Android smartphone
HMD will also “bring back an iconic phone this summer,” similar to its other retro revivals of devices like the Nokia 3310 and Nokia 8110.
“Promising style, nostalgia, and a much-needed digital detox, this retro feature phone will flip the script on smartphone culture and will be this summer’s hottest accessory,”
HMD says that repairability goes to the next level, substantially reducing the number of steps it takes to fix the screen.

Apple Vision Pro users are reporting random cracks on the front glass
Apple Vision Pro owners have claimed that their headsets developed a hairline crack down the middle of the front cover glass, despite having NEVER been dropped or mishandled.
All of the images show a distinctly similar vertical hairline crack above the nose bridge, implying that the damage is occurring at a particular point of tension, where the curvature of the laminated glass is most pronounced.
The real cause of the crack is unknown but it could be due to pressure exerted on the glass when tightening the straps, which is causing "bowing" of the surrounding frame.
Others speculate that the problem may be due to an overheating issue which is expanding the glass and leading it to crack at its weakest point.
Some Owners affected by cracks are reporting that Apple Support is asking them to pay $800 for repair, as the crack is not officially recognized as a manufacturing defect.

Delhi HC warns BBK Group of a potential Sales Ban in India
InterDigital provides wireless and video technologies for mobile devices, networks, and services worldwide.
But the BBK group infringed upon its 3G, 4G, and 5G Standard Essential Patents (SEPs)
The court said that OPPO group shall deposit a sum covering all past sales for the years 2021-22, 2022-23, 2023-24 (not disclosed), within 3 months"
The court said that failure to do so would entitle InterDigital to move an application before the court seeking an injunction/restraint on the sale of further devices by Oppo in India, due to non-compliance of court orders.
The court also imposed a penalty of Rs 500,000 ($6,000) on Oppo for delaying the proceedings.
Recently, Oppo had been directed to pay up interim security in its dispute with Nokia.
That case, however, was settled as part of a cross-licensing agreement reached between Nokia and Oppo last month.
Nokia withdrew the case from the Delhi High Court.

However, Apple explored a variety of ideas for the iPhone's notch area over the years
Before Dynamic Island, Apple explored a popover menu on the right side of the screen that would have provided users with quick access to the time, cellular signal & Wi-Fi strength, brightness, volume, and battery charge level.
Another idea that Apple considered was hiding the notch with an all-black status bar area at the top of the screen.

Lenovo showcases ThinkBook Transparent Laptop Concept at MWC 2024
Lenovo has officially introduced the ThinkBook Transparent Display Laptop Concept – which features the World's FIRST laptop with a "bezel-less" 17.3-inch Micro-LED transparent display offering a see-through display experience.
It offers upto 55% transparency when its pixels are set to black and turned off.
But as its pixels light up, the display becomes less and less see-through, until eventually, you’re looking at a completely opaque white surface with a peak brightness of 1,000 nits.
This also has a transparent keyboard area and a seemingly floating footpad design.
The ThinkBook Transparent Display Laptop concept even comes with a built-in drawing tablet
The keyboard that you can see on the laptop is actually a projection, which disappears when you bring a stylus close to the drawing surface or even when you step away from the laptop entirely.
