Google to begin Pixel production in India by next quarter
Nikkei Asia reports that Google has told suppliers to start making its Pixel smartphones in India by the next quarter at the earliest
Google will first prepare the production line for its high-end Pixel 8 Pro in South India in the coming weeks, then begin turning out phones in the April-June quarter.
This will be followed by production of the Pixel 8 in North India around the middle of this year
The report also states that Google plans to ship MORE than 10 Million Pixel phones this year, after shipping around 10 million units for the first time in 2023
Nikkei Asia previously reported that Google placed an order of 8 million devices for the Pixel 7 series and over 7 million for the Pixel 6 series.

MediaTek has announced that its Dimensity 9300 and 8300 chipsets are now "optimized" for Google's Gemini Nano LLM!
Gemini Nano is Google's mobile-optimized LLM currently available on the Pixel 8 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S24 series. It powers on-device generative AI features like the Pixel Recorder's on-device summarization and Gboard's smart reply.
"This effort includes collaboration with Google using MediaTek’s NeuroPilot toolkit and porting Gemini Nano to MediaTek APU to improve performance."
