Introducing the Final Boss of Apple's Lightning Cables
The Apple Vision Pro power cable connects to the battery with what may well be Lightningβs final form.
With the help of a SIM removal tool and pushing into the small hole in the silver external battery pack of the Vision Pro popped out the cable what seems like a bigger, 12-pin version of the lightning cable

HMD is dropping its Nokia branding for smartphones
HMD Global is a smartphone maker that has exclusive rights to the Nokia branding name and sells smartphones & tablets under the Nokia brand.
Nokia in-turn receives royalty payments from HMD Global for each Nokia-branded phone that HMD sells
HMD got Nokia branding rights in 2016 and as a part of 10yr agreement, the contract will end in 2026, which is almost 2yrs away
Human Mobile Devices (HMD Global) will start selling its own devices without the Nokia branding marking now.
Additionally, the Nokia.com/phones now directs users to HMD Globalβs website.
The first batch of HMD-branded handsets are codenamed: Legend and Pulse
Each series will come in 3 variants: Regular, Plus and Pro
One of the smartphones will come in CYAN color.
It will feature a 108MP main camera with OIS as well
HMD will showcase its smartphones at its MWC event and will launch them by April in India

The impossible has happened: Microsoft updates Windows Setup design
Microsoft rolled out a new Windows 11 preview build (26040) with a brand new default installation UI, something that hasn't been touched in over a decade.
The last time it was seriously updated was with Windows 8, and before that was Windows Vista.
Microsoft describes the new UI as "refreshing the Windows OS Media Setup with a much cleaner and more modern design.
All of the same features will continue to be supported in the bare-metal (clean) OS Installation experience, including unattended support, but will now be consistent with the current upgrade and installation experience available for the devices already running the Windows OS."

First Look at Native Linux-like Sudo command in Windows 11
Source
Microsoft is testing native Linux-like Sudo command support for Windows 11
The Sudo command in Linux or macOS allows for modifying system files, changing system settings, system-wide updates, and more.
The Sudo βsuperuser doβ command is coming to Windows 11 as part of the developer settings.
It may allow you to manage settings that require administrative privileges, such as uninstalling apps, changing system settings, or other developer-related settings.
Windows 11 will allow you to configure Sudo command behavior by setting preferences for how commands run with Sudo work:
β’ In a New Window
β’ With Input Disabled
β’ Inline
Youβll be able to access the Sudo command using Command Prompt, PowerShell, or any terminal interface on Windows as long as the feature is enabled and developer mode is turned on.

FunFact: Poco X6 series feature a Virtual Proximity Sensor
Poco has mentioned that X6 Pro features a Proximity sensor on the Poco Global website including the UK's and even on India's Flipkart
However, it uses a "virtual" proximity sensor to offer the PATHETIC experience to its loyal Poco & Xiaomi meat riders
Since Poco X6 pro is a rebranded Redmi K70E in China, Redmi did NOT mention that it has a proximity sensor on its Mi China website
But Poco however as usual is fooling everyone by writing FAKE specifications for its products
Note: This CANNOT be fixed by Custom ROMs as some people believe that Xiaomi hardware specs are good, so just change the software using Custom ROMS π€

CORRECTION: Poco X6 gets a Physical Proximity sensor
Poco X6 Pro uses TCS 3701 "elliptic" proximity sensor developed by Elliptic Labs which is "AI virtual" proximity sensor instead of a physical one.
Meanwhile, the cheaper Poco X6 uses the TCS 3701 proximity sensor which is the SAME used on the Poco F5 too
Also, Poco X6 pro comes with Gorilla Glass 5 for protection
The cheaper Poco X6 gets Gorilla Glass Victus protection
However, Poco X6 Pro features NFC chip but Xiaomi removed it with the regular X6

Carl Pei is a hypocrite. During the start of Nothing, Carl Pei initially stated that their ecosystem would be "open" & would "effortlessly integrate" with other brands. Now in 2023, Carl Pei announced that they are considering making features for Nothingβ¦
Our Nothing Fuckups Rants Worked π
Apart from Xiaomi, we troll Nothing too for their fake promises to hype up their products
I criticized Carl Pei previously by calling him a "hypocrite" by showcasing many proofs wherein he acts like he cares about the community at first but afterward switches sides because of money
You can read that post HERE
In November 2022, Carl did 2 Twitter polls asking users whether to make Glyph Interface API open or not and users voted for it to be open.
But Nothing did Nothing about this indicating a fake hype as usual
But now after almost 20 months of launching Phone 1, Carl Pei has finally announced the Glyph SDK (Software Development Kit) is coming for Nothing users
The new Glyph Developer Kit will let 3rd-party Android app developers tap into the flashing lights on the rear of Nothingβs Phone 1 and Phone 2 handsets.

When will Google launch its Find My Device network? We still don't know, but here's the latest update:
Background
Google said they won't roll their Find My Device network until Apple implements unwanted tracker alerts in iOS. Apple is waiting for the Detecting Unwanted Location Trackers (DULT) specification they jointly developed with Google and other industry vendors to be chartered by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF).
Google said they expected this specification to be finalized by the end of 2023, but it seems that timeline was a bit optimistic. In recent weeks, the DULT mailing list called for feedback from participants on whether they approved of the current draft being chartered.
Where we are today
Today (2/2/24), the call for feedback was closed by the IETF's Security Area Director, who said that these are the next steps:
1) The IESG will conduct an initial review of the charter at the next telechat (2/15/24).
2) The charter will be sent to the IETF community for review.
3) The IESG will conduct a final review on the charter at another telechat (2/29/24 or 3/7/24).
If all goes well, the earliest that the DULT specification can be chartered is by IETF 119, which starts on 3/16/24.
This means we'll have to wait until at least mid-March for DULT to be finalized, and then we'll have to wait for Apple to roll out unwanted tracker alerts based on this spec to iOS, and finally Google will roll out their Find My Device network.
(Getting industry consensus on such a sensitive issue takes time and there are a lot of things that need to be done, so this is no fault of the IETF. I'm just relaying the latest update on what's happening.)

Android 15 may introduce a new APEX (the package format used by many Project Mainline modules) module called CrashRecovery.
CrashRecovery is a new module that will contain all the APIs related to Android's Rescue Party feature, a feature introduced in Android 8.0 Oreo that helps users recover from reboot loops. Rescue Party detects when core system components (like the system_server process or a persistent system app) repeatedly crashes in a short period and takes different actions (like clearing all changes to Settings tables) to see if the device can be recovered. If not, then the user is prompted to factory reset their device.
I don't know if CrashRecovery will be updatable via Google Play System Updates or even really why this code is being migrated into its own APEX, but I'll keep an eye out on AOSP for more info.

Redmi Note 13 series also packs AI Virtual Proximity Sensor
Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G, Redmi Note 13, and even the most powerful Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus, all come with an AI Virtual proximity sensor for optimum experience from Xiaomi
However, the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G comes with a physical proximity sensor which is weird
Those who say, a 300$ smartphone cannot offer a physical proximity sensor due to NO space blah blah blah is a lame excuse because the flagship Xiaomi 14 series which got the narrowest bezels ships a physical proximity sensor
250$ Note 13= Virtual
300$ Poco X6= Physical
350$ Rebranded Poco X6 from Redmi= Physical
350$ poco X6 Pro= Virtual
400$ Note 13 Pro Plus= Virtual
What sense does this make?
The Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus is better in every way but Xiaomi still has to fuck it up somehow, offering a worse experience
A physical proximity sensor will NOT even cost 2$ to Xiaomi but they still didn't offer it for cost-cutting

Apple's Lighting Cable Mega Evolution
It was assumed that the 12-pin plug connecting the Vision Pro to its battery pack was the final boss (right) of Lightning cables.
However, one more lightning cable variant exists which is even bigger and is hiding within the strap on the Vision Pro headset. (left)
You can call it the "Mega Lightning Cable". It's a beefy 10-pin connector
In Apple's nomenclature:
Lightning Mini: AirPods Max
Lightning Standard: iPhone
Lightning Pro Max: Vision Pro Battery
Lightning Ultra: Vision Pro band

Apple is selling a $300 USB-C dongle for the Vision Pro headset
This USB-C dongle lets you connect the Vision Pro headset via USB-C to a Mac, which will come in handy when creating graphics-intensive vision apps and games.
Additionally, this USB-C dongle is technically a whole right speaker module as it features individually amplified dual-driver audio mods, thus justifying its 300$ price point
itβs only available to developers with a paid account, and Apple will use these to do diagnostics and troubleshooting.
