Apple updates 24″ iMac with M3 chip

Apple has updated its 24″ iMac with the new M3 chip features 8-core CPU, bringing a major upgrade to the SoC and GPU compared to its 2021 model with M1 chip

It features the same 4.5K Retina display but it gets faster Wi-Fi 6E.
The iMac now supports up to 24GB of unified LPDDR5 memory, and the next-generation GPU supports hardware-accelerated mesh shading and ray tracing.

Apple introduced the new MacBook Pro powered by new M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max processors.
The 14‑inch MacBook Pro with M3 is 60% faster than the 13‑inch MacBook Pro with M1

The 14" & 16-inch MacBook Pro with M3 Pro is 40% faster than 16‑inch model with M1 Pro.
With M3 Max, they are 2.5x faster than the 16-inch MacBook Pro with M1 Max.

ALL MacBook Pro models feature a Liquid Retina XDR display with 20% brighter SDR content at up to 600 nits, 1000 nits sustained & 1600 nits of peak brightness for HDR content.

It has Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, support for up to 4 external displays first time and 128GB LPDDR5 unified memory

The 14.2-inch and 16.2-inch models with Liquid Retina XDR mini-LED display, ProMotion technology with adaptive refresh rate up to 120Hz etc

Apple claims that their 30-minute long M3 family chipset launch event was shot on an iPhone and edited on Mac
All presenters, locations and drone footage were shot on iPhone 15 Pro Max

However, Apple didn't reveal where they hide the mic, how much work was done for color grading & how much CGI was there but nevertheless it was very impressive

Interesting things about Apple M3 Processors

Compared to M2, Apple has cut down on Memory Bandwidth on M3 series

M2 Pro was 200GB/s, M3 Pro is 150GB/s
M2 Max was 400GB/s, M3 Max is 400GB/s

M3 series NPU is 17 TOPS which is FAR less than Snapdragon X Elite with 45 TOPS

Also, Apple did NOT compare M3 series with M2 family chipset in their event. They just straightway compared it to 2yrs old M1.

M2 Pro → M3 Pro
8 → 6 P-cores
19 → 18 GPU cores
256 → 192 bit bus

So, Apple removed 2 P cores on the M3 Pro chip and gave it 2 more E cores. This led to M3 Pro having 37 billion transistors, which is a decrease from the M2 Pro's 40 billion

Also, M2 Pro was 16% faster than M1 Pro.
Apple says M3 Pro is 20% faster than M1 Pro

Plus, the cut-down model of the M3 Max (the one that now features a 30-core GPU vs 32 on the M2 Max) also gets downgraded to a 384 bit bus

14-inch MacBook Pro with M3 comes with Single Fan instead of 2.
The base model still comes with 8GB RAM after costing 1600$

Aadhaar details of 815 Million Indians leaked in India's ‘biggest’ data breach

Possibly the ‘biggest' case of data leak in the country, personal details of more than 81.5 crore Indians, sourced allegedly from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), is now available for sale on Dark Web

The hacker claims to have extracted the information from the Covid-19 test details of the citizens registered with ICMR.

The leak was initially noticed by Resecurity, an American cyber security and intelligence agency

A ‘threat actor’ with the alias ‘pwn001’ posted a thread on Breach Forums saying: "enabling access to records of 815 million (81.5 crore) Indians"

Name, Passport number, Adhaar Number, Address, Phone number etc details are available in the breached data
CERT-In has informed that sample data, which is on sale, MATCHES with the actual data of ICMR

India’s entire population is just over 1486 Million people and 815 Million people data is already up for sale
