Google Nest devices are now Matter and Fast Pair compatible

Google has announced that its Nest devices are now compatible with Matter. Over the past few weeks, millions of smart speakers, displays and Wi-Fi routers got updated to a new standard made by Google, Apple, Samsung, Amazon, and others.

This update allows Android and Google Home users to connect their Google devices with Matter devices from other manufacturers. Matter support requires Android 8.1 and up and Google Play Services 22.48.14.

These devices have received Matter support:
• Nest Mini
• Nest Audio
• Nest Hub (1st and 2nd gen)
• Nest Hub Max
• Nest Wifi Pro
• Google Home
• Google Home Mini

The Nest Wifi Pro, Hub Max, and Hub (second-gen) will now function as Thread border routers, allowing other Matter-enabled devices to connect to the network.

Some Nest devices, including the Nest Wifi and Thermostat 2020, as well as the Google Home app for iOS, will receive updates in 2023 to enable Matter compatibility.

RIP Samsung Exynos chipset

Samsung’s smartphone business is managed by the company’s Mobile eXperience (MX) division, while the Exynos chipsets are designed by the System LSI, a completely different division.

Samsung MX has formed a new team to develop smartphone chipsets so that the smartphone development team could design its own processors rather than relying on System LSI for its chipsets.

LSI included:
• Exynos team Display drivers
• Samsung display Camera sensor
• Electronic engineering of Samsung Foundry business

LSI is the result of all of the bad code that introduces bugs
Samsung writes their own code for their own phones, every licensed Exynos phone gets LSI code instead

The New team formed has decided to NOT launch a new Exynos processor in 2023 and 2024. This would mean that the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S24 will not feature an Exynos chipset

So the new chipset from samsung will be first equipped in Galaxy S25 series in 2025

Twitter bans links and usernames to other social medias

Elon Musk has decided to ban promotional links to other competitor social media. The list currently includes Facebook, Instagram, Mastodon, Truth Social, Tribel, Nostr, and Post. Plus, link-in-bio tools like Linktree and Lnk.Bio are also being banned.

Twitter will ask you to delete tweets if you link out your handles with multiple violations of this policy resulting in a temporary account lock. If you have any links to these platforms in your bio, you will be suspended from your account and asked to change it.

Examples:
•"follow me @ username on Instagram"
•"check out my profile on Facebook
• Sharing screenshots of your social media handles that are prohibited like Instagram

What's allowed:
Paid advertisement/promotion for any of the prohibited social media platforms.

Twitter is reverting the decision of banning promotional links

The post was talking about promotional links not being allowed on Twitter with websites like Facebook, Instagram, Mastodon, Truth Social, Tribel, Nostr, and Post being banned. Additionally, link-in-bio tools like Linktree and Lnk.Bio were also being banned.

It seems like this decision has been reverted, as soon as it was introduced after the backlash it has received.

The people have spoken, they want Elon Musk to step down from being the CEO of Twitter. As promised, a new CEO will be appointed which will keep Twitter alive.

42.5% users picked NO
