Is TSMC better than Samsung Semiconductor?

A single wafer contains about 700 chips. If a wafer has a 50% yield, then 350 of the 700 chips are faulty or perform worse. This is why some users experience lower performance with their devices and should get it replaced.
The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 has a 85% yield by TSMC, which is better than the 35% yield of the 8 Gen 1, meaning that less TSMC chips will have issues.
The 8+ Gen 1 has better performance and efficiency compared to the 8 Gen 1 because of Qualcomm's improvements, not TSMC's manufacturing as it's built on "true" 4nm LPE technology, unlike the 8 Gen 1 which had 5nm chips which Qualcomm claimed to be 4nm.
While Samsung is more advanced in its manufacturing processes and uses the latest tools, they also prioritize profit over progress, which can lead to lower yields. TSMC, on the other hand, makes steady progress and only opens orders when they are ready earning them a reputation for reliability.
Samsung and Intel are planning to switch to larger 450mm wafers, while TSMC will remain at 300mm wafers. TSMC has stated that it does not plan to compete in this area due to the high cost of switching.
