On the security front, Microsoft patched privilege-escalation vulnerabilities in Windows User-Mode Power Service and, on 26H1, Windows Secure Kernel Mode. For regular users, the more practical fixes address problems in Remote Desktop Services, Hyper-V, and audio.
RDS had been causing connection failures, login issues, and unresponsive management tools after the September update. Hyper-V users also saw crashes when sharing folders with Linux VMs through Plan9. Microsoft additionally fixed a bug affecting some USB Audio Class 1.0 devices in multichannel audio modes.
One known issue remains: some USB Audio Class 1.0 devices may fail to start or produce sound after the September update. If you rely on remote access, virtual machines, or older USB audio gear, this patch is worth installing now.

Following the deployment of OriginOS 7 and its wholesale copying of iOS 26, it no longer makes sense to call Vivo owners “Android users.” Effective immediately, their Android-user status is revoked, and they will now be classified as “Second-Hand iOS Users.”
The Sideloading Defence Is Denied
Claiming that “Android allows sideloading” is not a valid defence. Using open-source freedom and APK privileges to run a counterfeit Cupertino interface does not make you a power user. It makes you an "Apple cosplayer" operating on an open-source kernel with the power of APK installer.

Android Canary 2609 is here with a preview of a highly requested security feature: A global lock for Quick Settings!
(As usual, Canary is highly experimental & not recommended for daily use!)
With this new setting, you can require your device to be unlocked to toggle certain Quick Settings. When enabled, your phone must be unlocked to toggle Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Mobile Data, & Airplane Mode.
Go to Settings > Security & privacy > Device unlock or Settings > Display & touch > Lock screen to enable it.
