🎮 Microsoft has officially announced Disc-to-Digital, a new program that lets Xbox owners convert supported physical games into digital licenses. The rollout begins with Xbox Insiders on August 31, 2026, with a wider release planned later for Xbox One and Xbox Series X users.

The feature supports most physical Xbox One and Series X titles, but publishers can choose whether their games are eligible. Once a disc is inserted and the game is launched, the digital license becomes tied to that specific disc. Microsoft says the program will expand over time and eventually support thousands of titles.
