The .me registry commented on the suspension of the t.me domain

A representative of the .me domain zone administration commented on Twitter about the situation regarding the ban of the t.me domain, which belongs to Telegram:

The .ME Registry works closely with law enforcement to monitor and mitigate issues across the .ME domain in accordance with applicable laws, including sanctions requirements.

On 13 July, First VPN Service (1VPNS) was included as a sanctioned entity by the U.S. Department of the Treasury. A Telegram channel using the t.me domain was among 1VPNS identified infrastructure. Accordingly, the t.me domain was suspended.

On 14 July, Telegram provided confirmation that it had removed its links and affiliations with 1VPNS. Once the confirmation was reviewed and verified, the suspension was removed from the t.me domain.

We appreciate Telegram’s prompt cooperation in resolving this matter.

As a reminder, on July 13, the .me registry disabled the DNS records for the t.me domain without any public statements from the zone administration or Telegram. On July 14, Identity Digital support explained the ban as compliance with OFAC requirements, and a link to a Telegram channel was found in the service's sanctions lists, which the messenger soon deleted, after which the domain was restored.

The .me zone is allocated to the government of Montenegro, but on its behalf, the infrastructure is managed by a joint venture between Identity Digital, GoDaddy, and the local company ME-net.

Windows 11 is getting a modern Shut Down Windows dialog. It appears when users choose Shut Down or Restart from the improved Search experience.👆

For now, the change applies only in Search. The desktop shortcut still opens the older dialog when users press Alt + F4.

🔎 Microsoft is testing a set of Windows Search improvements for Windows Insiders in the Experimental channel. The update makes search cleaner, easier to use, and more accurate across apps, settings, files, and web results.

The main search page now has a simpler layout, and result labels show more clearly whether an item comes from an app, setting, file, web result, or Microsoft Store offer. Microsoft also removed advertising content from search results, so users see more relevant answers and fewer promotions.

A new setting in Settings > Privacy & Security > Search lets users control whether web results and Microsoft Store suggestions appear with local results. Local items now take priority when they better match a query, and system items like This PC and Recycle Bin should be easier to find.

Microsoft also improved app typo handling, settings ranking, file search, and overall Search stability.

📱Microsoft is working on Windows 11 changes that could make phone integration feel more native to the operating system.

+ Planned updates include a richer Start menu panel for connected phones, a taskbar popup with quick controls such as Do Not Disturb, mute, and Find Device, and drag and drop file sharing to a phone icon.

+ Microsoft is also exploring clipboard history sync between Windows 11 and a smartphone.

+ In addition, the company is developing a standalone Messages app for SMS syncing and quick replies.

These features remain internal prototypes as of this writing.

Spotify adds its own AI chatbot

Eligible Spotify Premium users can now talk to Spotify across Home and the Now Playing view on mobile.

You can ask Spotify to "Play some artists I haven’t heard before." You can say, "Add some Bad Bunny," and then ask to narrow it to "just his recent stuff," or "make it more upbeat." And when you love what you hear, ask Spotify to "save this song," "add this to my queue," or "follow this artist." You can also explore your listening and understanding what's playing.

This is currently available in the U.S., Ireland, and Sweden in English.

BREAKING: OnePlus Officially Shuts Down in the US, Canada and Europe

OnePlus announced on its community app that it has decided to conclude new product rollouts in North America, Canada and Europe.

Additionally, as part of this transition, the communityus.oneplus.com website and app will officially close on August 16, 2026 at 11:59PM ET. To help keep the community connected, OnePlus is launching a new Discord server for the entire OnePlus Community as a gathering space. However, it should not be considered an official OnePlus support channel.

Backed by OPPO, existing OnePlus devices will continue to receive scheduled software updates and security patches within the support periods originally committed for each device model.

The customer service channels will remain open and responsive in accordance with Oneplus's standard warranty and support obligations.

BREAKING: OnePlus and Realme smartphones will receive ColorOS 17 Skin with Android 17 upgrade

RIP OxygenOS and RealmeUI

OnePlus announced on its community app that as part of an operational adjustment to its software strategy, following the official release of ColorOS 17, users with existing OnePlus devices that fall within the eligible upgrade scope will have the option to voluntarily update to the latest ColorOS. Legacy models that are not eligible for this specific upgrade will continue to receive software maintenance.

The FAQ section notes that:

Q: Can users choose not to switch to ColorOS? If they are not satisfied after switching, can they roll back?

A: OnePlus users will be able to choose whether to update to the latest ColorOS system. If users update to ColorOS, they will have the option to roll back to OxygenOS. The specific rollback versions available will be subject to future official announcements.
