Earthquake In Türkiye Most Powerful Since 1939, Hundreds Dead, Thousands Injured — Erdogan

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the Monday 7.8 magnitude earthquake that shook Türkiye was the most powerful tremor to hit the nation since 1939.

At least 912 people were killed, and 5,385 were injured. Around 2,500 people have already been rescued.

In Syria, 326 have died due to the earthquake, and 1,042 were injured, according to the country’s health ministry.
