India might be unable to meet its 2028 deadline for quantum-security, National Quantum Mission Chairman Ajai Chowdhry said.

“There is no strong cycle in India for R&D funding, innovation and government procurement,” he said.

It is imperative that the country speed up the development and deployment of post-quantum cryptography before quantum computers become a threat to the encryption we use today.

Chowdhry also stressed the need for more private sector participation and investment.
India’s quantum security readiness will be crucial to protect sensitive government, financial and digital infrastructure.

Pune-based Thrustworks Dynetics has successfully test-fired India’s first Resonance Ignition System, achieving Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 6. A fake 113GB GTA VI build is reportedly spreading online through torrent and piracy sites.

Security analysis found that the supposed game contains malware, not a genuine playable build. The malicious file is reportedly designed to put users’ PCs and personal data at risk.

Researchers warn that recent GTA VI leaks are being exploited to make these fake downloads look convincing.

There is currently no verified public playable GTA VI build, so unofficial downloads should be treated as malicious.

ChatGPT could soon introduce Locked Chats, a new privacy feature currently being tested on Android. Users may be able to protect individual conversations with a PIN or fingerprint.

Locked chats would be hidden from the normal sidebar, chat history and search results. Unlike Temporary Chats, they would remain saved and accessible after authentication.

The feature may also create a separate Memory boundary for information from locked conversations. OpenAI has not officially announced a release date, so the feature could still change or be cancelled.

Nvidia is reportedly in talks to invest in AI search startup Perplexity in a funding round that would value the company at more than $30 billion. That would be more than a 50% increase from Perplexity’s previous $20 billion valuation.

The startup’s annualized revenue has reportedly jumped to more than $750 million from less than $250 million earlier this year.
Some of the growth has been driven by Perplexity Computer, its AI bot that automates professional tasks.

On August 24, there was a partial outage with users reporting issues with the Claude Chat, Claude Code and the mobile app.

Users reported failed prompts, login issues, slow response times, and increased API errors. Most of the complaints were about Claude Code (41%) and Claude Chat (31%), according to Downdetector.

Anthropic identified increased errors affecting a range of models, including Claude Mythos 5, Fable 5 and Opus 5. Anthropic said it found the cause and is working to bring back normal service.

NUS Medicine, DayOne and Cortical Labs have announced the prototype of a biological data center in Singapore. It employs living human neurons grown from stem cells, and silicon hardware, to carry out information processing.

The prototype consists of 20 CL1 biological computing units in a self-driven server rack. Biological computing, researchers say, could provide energy-efficient, adaptive AI over conventional systems. Over the longer term the technology could underpin applications ranging from drug discovery to robotics and from cybersecurity to fraud detection.

The project is a big step forward in the merging of biology and next-generation computing.

Operation QUICSILVER is a cyber-espionage campaign against the government and IT sectors of Myanmar. The campaign employs fake graduation invitations and other documents to lure victims into opening malicious files.

The backdoor, written in Go, is called QUICAgent and uses the QUIC protocol to communicate with its command-and-control server. The malware can execute commands, transfer files, browse directories, and persist on infected systems.

The campaign is associated with a China-nexus threat actor, with moderate confidence. The campaign was initially spotted in April 2026 with further attacks in June and July.

A new campaign from ClickFix is tricking Mac users by showing them fake CAPTCHA verification pages.

The victims are instructed to copy and paste the malicious command into the macOS Terminal. The command installs malware which is capable of stealing passwords, browser data, information from Apple Keychain and data from crypto-wallets. The malware is also capable of ensuring its continued presence and of using the Mac’s resources to mine cryptocurrency.

Researchers cautions that a real CAPTCHA will never ask users to carry out Terminal commands.

Microsoft Teams is being abused in a new phishing campaign to deliver SynkLoader, a previously unknown malware. Attackers impersonate corporate IT support and trick employees into installing a fake “PowerShell Cleaner” MSI hosted on Azure. The malware uses a fake Windows 11 lock screen, dubbed PhishLocker, to capture users’ passwords. SynkLoader can also enable remote access, network tunneling and PowerShell command execution. Researchers warn that the campaign could provide attackers with deeper access to corporate networks.
