"We have to set impossible goals" - Veaceslav Cunev

Veaceslav Cunev is an IT professional with more than 30 years of experience in IT. President of the Moldovan ATIC Association since 2008, lecturer at the Technical University of Moldova and a successful entrepreneur. He is the founder of several startups and IT companies, such as Deeplace, Gustos.life, FoodHouse and the innovative company Winetech.

I was curious to discuss with Veaceslav ways to develop the IT industry in Moldova, so that the IT market becomes more attractive for foreign companies.

We are thrilled to announce the success of our SUM IT UP #5: Five Dimensions, One Vision event, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of Moldova's IT sector. This event is the first in a series of five, each dedicated to exploring one of the five key dimensions of MITP.

Natalia Donțu, MITP administrator, illuminated the remarkable achievements within the first dimension - Business Development and Job Creation: "In 2023 alone, MITP residents have generated over 1,900 job positions, reinforcing the Park's pivotal role in nurturing new business ventures." This progress not only highlights MITP's function as a hub for business innovation but also its vital contribution to Moldova's employment landscape.

In this first dimension, we also delved into the evolving salary dynamics in the IT sector. For instance, in 2022, the average monthly salary at foreign investment companies stood at approximately 39,000 MDL (~€2,000), marginally below the local companies' average. Yet, these companies with foreign capital showcased higher productivity indicators, underscoring the robustness of our sector.

On December 1, the annual SUM IT UP event was held on behalf of the MITP (Moldova Innovation Technology Park) community.
