OpenAI has officially responded to Elon Musk’s latest espionage lawsuit and this time, it’s personal.

– About a week ago, Musk accused OpenAI of systematically poaching former xAI employees and pressuring them to reveal trade secrets, essentially claiming Sam Altman was trying to steal xAI’s breakthroughs.

– In response, OpenAI launched a full-on website section titled “The Truth About Elon Musk and OpenAI.” It compiles every lawsuit, official statement, and even past correspondence between Musk and OpenAI leadership, basically a public legal archive with receipts.

– The company’s statement calls the new case “a baseless trade secret theft lawsuit”, adding:

“OpenAI does not need anyone’s trade secrets to fulfill its mission, least of all those belonging to xAI.”

– They argue Musk’s lawsuits are part of a “legal harassment strategy,” claiming employees leave xAI because of Musk, not because OpenAI is stealing them. The post warns that his tactics “create an atmosphere of fear” that hurts the whole AI industry.
