The UK government has issued a new order to Apple to create a backdoor into its cloud storage service, this time targeting only British users’ data

The report reveals that, in early September, the UK Home Office demanded that Apple creates a way for officials to access encrypted ‌iCloud‌ backups. Unlike its previous order, the latest request focuses on the ‌iCloud‌ data of British citizens specifically. The demand is designed to aid law enforcement with investigations into terrorism and child sexual abuse.

The Home Office's previous request from January sought access to encrypted user data worldwide, which triggered a diplomatic clash between the UK and U.S. governments. The Trump administration pressured the UK to discard the order and, in August, director of national intelligence Tulsi Gabbard said that the UK had "agreed to drop" its demand, at least with regards to the encrypted data of American citizens.

In February, Apple withdrew ‌iCloud‌'s Advanced Data Protection feature in the UK and raised public objections to the request. It also registered a complaint with the Investigatory Powers Tribunal and supported a legal challenge from the campaign group Privacy International and Liberty.

Microsoft released Windows 11 version 25H2!

The 25H2 update will be delivered as an enablement package (eKB). This means that it contains all the recently announced features in Windows 11, version 24H2.

The update features significant advancements in build and runtime vulnerability detection, leveraging AI-assisted secure coding.

The 25H2 version is also expected to be lighter by removing legacy features like PowerShell 2.0 and the Windows Management Instrumentation command line, or WMIC.

Business users will receive new features. Enterprise customers will be able to use Wi-Fi 7, and IT admins will be able to remove certain pre-installed Microsoft Store apps through Microsoft Intune or Group Policy.

Version 25H2 is now available via Windows Autopatch and the Microsoft 365 admin center, and is being rolled out to consumers in phases.

Reliance Consumer Products, the FMCG arm of Reliance, is launching a new mass-market packaged water brand called Campa Sure.

The rollout is slated for October 2025 nationwide.

It will be backed by partnerships with regional water bottling firms, to help with local manufacturing and quality governance.

The strategy is aggressive pricing — Campa Sure will undercut established brands like Bisleri, Kinley, Aquafina etc.
