Google is rolling out 30-second unskippable ads on the YouTube app for connected TVs and smart TVs worldwide.

This change was announced and began rolling out globally in early March 2026 as part of updates to YouTube's Video Reach Campaigns (VRC) non-skip ad formats.

The only way to skip these ads on TV is to have a YouTube Premium subscription.
