Google has activated Emergency Location Service (ELS) on Android in India

Uttar Pradesh becoming the first state to fully integrate precise caller location into its 112 emergency services.

Emergency Location Service (ELS) is a built-in Android feature that automatically shares a caller’s exact location with emergency services during a 112 call or SMS. It uses GPS, Wi-Fi, and mobile networks to pinpoint the user within about 50 meters, even if the call disconnects, helping responders reach faster.

ELS is privacy-focused: it works only during emergencies, is free, and the location data is sent directly to emergency services, not stored or collected by Google.

➡️When you call or SMS 112, your Android phone can automatically share your exact location
➡️Even if you can’t speak properly or the call drops, help can still find you
➡️Uttar Pradesh is the first state where this is fully live
➡️It’s FREE and works only during emergencies
