The Watch studies your heart-rate patterns in the background for 30 days. If it notices signs that your blood pressure may be high for a long time, it sends a “Possible Hypertension” alert.

- This is not a BP reading and can’t diagnose anything.
- If alerted, Apple recommends checking BP with a real cuff for 7 days and consulting a doctor.
- Helps catch early signs because high BP usually has no symptoms.
- Feature works automatically when you simply wear your Watch regularly.
- Supported on Apple Watch Series 9 and later, Ultra 2 and later, and Apple Watch SE (2nd gen) in some regions.
- Not for people under 22, or those already diagnosed with hypertension, or pregnant.
- Uses a heart-rate sensor + long-term pattern analysis — no extra hardware needed.
