Gheero(formerly iCog) is opening applications for its Applied AI & Machine Learning Residency Program, an 8-week program for people who want to build real AI systems, not just study the concepts.

Residents will work on practical AI and machine learning projects, learn how models are designed, trained, evaluated, and integrated into real products, and get mentorship from experienced builders. The program focuses on applied AI, engineering discipline, problem-solving, and technical growth.

Strong participants may also be considered for internship or full-time roles after the residency.

To apply, send your CV and relevant documents to recruitment@gheero.et with the subject line: Applied AI & Machine Learning Residency Program.

There is no need for motivation if you are the older child in your family. When it comes to being an older daughter, that is another story. Failure is not an option here, since the sustainability of the family depends on you.

When you finally get the freedom and the resources to implement what you’ve learned 😁 Set up for the day with @TechStepsHub
Today, we were setting up a PC to use as a server, and honestly, it was a great experience. I can confidently say that I’m happy to have finally practiced, in real life, what I learned in my cloud computing class...the setup is not done yet tho we got good progress

There was also an unplanned event we attended this morning, and it answered so many questions I had. I got the chance to talk with people working at AI companies, meet founders from different startups, and even have a conversation with someone from NASA, he shared valuable advice about our projects and future plans...

One thing I realized is that talking to people from different backgrounds helps you see life from new perspectives, every conversation can teach you something you didn't know before

Quote of the Month:)
Spend your time on things that will either give you financial freedom, experience, or both and make connections whenever you get the opportunity you never know which conversation or introduction might open a door that changes your life.

My girlfriend hated when I made her pick places to go out.

And I don't really know too many places around the city (me dev. outside bad 🙂‍↔️). So I built this last weekend.

Spots scrapes popular review channels on TikTok and displays the results all in one place. You can save a spot, make a list of all the places you've been to with notes and reviews, and you can see what other people have said about places.

And the best part is that you don't have to be on TikTok to find cool places around Addis.

Ma mom sent me a voice message saying, “It’s Father’s Day. Call your dad, wish him a happy Father’s Day, and buy him something” I stopped doing those things because whenever I bought my dad something, he didn’t really show much reaction, so I thought maybe…
I always think about my dad and realize how blessed I am to have him in my life, he's the most understanding father I could ask for, he gave me the freedom to explore the world, trusted me to make my own decisions, and rarely questioned the paths I chose...that trust taught me to take responsibility for every step I take in life

Much respect to all the fathers who work hard, show up when we need them most, and love us unconditionally even when they don't always express it openly

Happy Father's Day ❤️
