ASRock listed the Radeon RX 9050 with 4GB of video memory, the first modern card with this capacity in years. It features RDNA 4 architecture, 16 compute units, and a boost clock up to 2600 MHz, but only a 64-bit memory bus and 18 GB/s bandwidth.

The 4GB VRAM is well below current AAA game recommendations, limiting play to 1080p with no future-proofing. The card appeared in a Best Buy prebuilt priced at $889, paired with 8GB DDR4 RAM, a 500GB SSD, and a Ryzen 5 5500 CPU.

Higher memory costs and component shortages force manufacturers to cut specs rather than raise prices. The 4GB card is a sign of how tight the market remains, making this low VRAM configuration acceptable again.
