if a navigation app has a “Truck” mode, it must be safe for truck transport.

Standard car navigation follows a simple logic:
get from point A to point B as fast or as short as possible.

Truck navigation works differently. It must take into account:

height, weight, and length restrictions

truck traffic prohibitions

environmental zones

road type and allowed maneuvers

regional traffic regulations


If these factors are not fully considered, it is not truck navigation — even if the menu says “Truck”.

Good morning, dear drivers!

On some devices running iGO Nextgen Premium with HERE 2025 Q2 maps, an issue could occur where Points of Interest (POI) suddenly disappeared from the map.

The cause was certain custom POI files with an excessively large size, which affected their correct display.

We have fixed this issue. Below you will find the custom_poi.zip archive and the required steps to apply the fix.

Installation steps:

1. Go to the IGO_PAL/content folder and delete the userdata folder.


2. Navigate to IGO_PAL/save/profiles/01 and delete the file poi_visiblities.txt.


3. From the custom_poi.zip archive, extract the userdata folder into the IGO_PAL/content directory.


4. Launch the application and open: Map Settings → POI Settings → POI Display, then re-enable the required Points of Interest for display on the map.



Please note:
This fix applies only to the version with HERE 2025 Q2 maps.
For iGO Nextgen with TomTom 2025.06 maps, these steps are not required.

If traffic data is not displayed on your device, please use the fix provided below.

To install, download the archive TMC_FIX_Nextgen_2025Q2.rar. The archive contains the save folder and the sys.txt file — these must be replaced in your IGO_PAL folder on the device.

Important: before replacing the files, make sure to back up your personal data. Your saved locations are stored in: IGO_PAL/save/profiles/01/users/00

The file user.upoi contains all your saved points. Please copy this file before replacement, and after installing the fix, move it back into the new save folder.

The archive password is the same as the password for the IGO Nextgen Premium 2025 Q2 package.

In the professional truck navigation market, two major mapping platforms dominate — HERE Technologies and TomTom. Both are widely used in iGO and Sygic, but there are important differences between them.

Europe
HERE provides more stable performance in Eastern European countries, including industrial zones, secondary roads, and truck restrictions.
TomTom often updates road infrastructure faster in Western Europe and major cities.

Truck Restrictions
HERE offers a strong database of bridge heights and weight limits.
TomTom more accurately reflects urban driving bans and Low Emission Zones within the EU.

Routing
HERE tends to generate more conservative and predictable routes.
TomTom sometimes suggests shorter but more aggressive routes via secondary roads.

Important
Maps are only part of the system. Route quality also depends on proper truck profile configuration, up-to-date restriction files, correct traffic integration, and the overall quality of the navigation build.

Conclusion
There is no universally “better” map. The optimal choice depends on your operating region and type of transport.

The decision should be based not on the brand name, but on your real operational needs.
