Important information for clients who have experienced the issue of disappearing Points of Interest (POI) in IGO Nextgen Premium.

Several drivers reported that at some point, POIs disappeared from the map, and the only solution was restoring the save folder from a backup. We have not personally encountered this issue, but after a detailed review with our colleague, we discovered that the problem is related to DKV stress point files located in the userdata folder. Due to their large size, these files may cause malfunctions on certain devices.

What to do if you encounter this situation:

1. Go to IGO_PAL/content/userdata/poi and delete the three files highlighted in the attached screenshot.


2. Then, open IGO_PAL/save/profiles/01 and delete the file poi_visiblities.txt.


3. Restart the program, go to Map Settings > POI Settings, and reselect the POIs you would like to display on the map.

In future updates, we will remove DKV points from the main database and provide them separately for users whose devices can handle them without issues.

However, if you still experience errors but need access to DKV points, you can install the free DKV Mobility application from Google Play:

This morning one of our clients asked a question regarding zoom settings in IGO Nextgen navigation. Here is the quote:

"Could you please tell me how to disable the function: when driving on a highway, the navigation automatically zooms in at every exit, and after passing the junction or exit, it zooms out again to the previous scale."

If you have experienced the same, it means that the “Automatic Overview” function is enabled.

Disabling it is very simple:

1. Go to Settings.


2. Open Navigation View.


3. Enter Automatic Overview settings and turn off “Automatic Overview.”

Today, we will once again return to an important topic we have already discussed many times on our Telegram channel — the role of the GPS receiver in navigation devices.

A GPS receiver is an electronic module that receives signals from global navigation satellite systems (GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, etc.) and determines the current location on Earth by calculating latitude, longitude, and altitude using trilateration. With its help, the device can define coordinates, speed, time, and generate data for navigation programs.

Without a GPS receiver, navigation programs (IGO, Sygic, TomTom, Navitel, and others) simply will not work, as it is the receiver that ensures the correct display of your location.

Many clients, when purchasing tablets such as the Xiaomi Pad SE (Wi-Fi version), overlook the fact that these devices lack a GPS module. At the same time, they claim that Google Maps shows their location. Here’s the explanation:
Google Maps can approximate your location without GPS using Wi-Fi, cell towers (A-GPS), or Bluetooth beacons. However, these are only auxiliary methods that depend on internet access and cannot provide full geolocation. Therefore, checking a device only through Google Maps is misleading. It is far wiser to consult a specialist beforehand or reach out to us.

Another important note: testing GPS indoors (in an apartment or house) is incorrect. Concrete walls block satellite signals, and the receiver may take time to acquire enough connections for accurate tracking. Sometimes it requires several minutes — this is completely normal.

The process is simple: you start the navigation program → the GPS receiver activates → it connects to satellites → the data is transmitted to the program → the program displays your position on the map.
Thus, it is the GPS receiver and its quality that determine accurate geolocation, not the navigation software itself, as some mistakenly believe.

We have emphasized this many times: do not try to save money on a navigation device. Buying the cheapest tablet without a GPS module will leave you without proper navigation. In such cases, the software is not at fault — the wrong choice of device is.

This is especially critical for long-haul drivers. A reliable navigation device is an essential part of your job. Before making a purchase, always verify compatibility with the required program, since, for example, IGO Primo / Nextgen does not work on devices with 64-bit processors.

For users of the iGO 64-bit edition (skin by Wal), we are sharing the updated speedcam.zip plugin by Andrey Form, which provides correct display of road events (speed cameras and warnings).

We have made an adjustment to the notification distance: instead of 300 m, it is now set to 500 m, allowing for better reaction time when driving a truck.

Installation instructions:

1. Copy the speedcam.zip file into the IGO_Avic/ux folder.


2. Confirm the file replacement when prompted by the system.



This plugin may have been shared before, but as new users don’t always review older posts, we are reposting it here. In the future, all updates and modifications will be included in major releases along with new maps.
