We grew up hearing that every individual is different.
But surprisingly, I have seen hundreds of students repeating the same mistakes when they start coding.
Indeed, you have to work hard to learn programming.
But hard work without knowing what mistakes to avoid is like trying to beat the wind.
Well, here is a list of some of the most common mistakes students make while they are learning to program, and which someone would have told me in my college days.
- Learning Multiple Programming Languages at Once or in a short span of time
- Not Practicing Enough Data Structures & Algorithms Problems
- Using Multiple Resources or Jumping Courses
- Not getting your hands dirty in actual coding.
- Not deploying your projects
- Ignoring Core Computer Science subjects such as Operating Systems, DBMS, Networking, etc.
- Failing to Assess, if the language / framework is the right choice.
Wasting time jumping courses and resources takes a heavy toll on the mind as well as time.
Programming is tough, but you should have the mindset of never giving up attitude.
Indeed, you will feel exhausted and stressed, but that is how you will become a master.
Patience is necessary, and diligence is what you need.
