"Thought Crime" Prisoners' Penpals UK
Here is what it looks like so far this month.
The thing is, it is not scalable.
I mention scalability from time to time as a necessary feature of SIAS and long-term viability.
I can do this with five prisoners, but it would become physically and financially impossible with ten or more. So, within perhaps a year we need a team that divides up the prisoners amongst the members of the team.
How to handle the potential complications that will arise is something I have hardly begun to work out.

Obviously, financial scalability can be done with a crowd-funding campaign. The physical scalability requires people.

By the way, I do this because i have not solved the "lack of information" issue: Since i don't know who is sending to which prisoners then as coordinator I have to cover them all in order to make sure none are left out. I avoid asking about who is doing what for privacy and security's sake. It is woefully inefficient and there is probably a better way.
Conservatism is a dead end. The past is gone, never to return, and whatever will save us will necessarily be revolutionary in character.
Political conservatism is a straight up scam, with its bait and switch and "drawing a line in the sand" that is the leftism of twenty years ago.
"Small c" conservatism is always in retreat: either white flight or an internal retreat into nostalgia and resentment.
No such groups or individuals are equipped to deal with what is right here right now.

Also, a book that I sent him, Chess Behind Bars, was delivered.
The release of those two books came six days after I sent my "stern letter" to the governor of his prison, requesting release of all the books I had sent. I don't think that's a coincidence. The letter was essentially the same as the one I sent to Tyrone's prison governor that got his books delivered eight days later.
I shall put that letter up shortly as a template. If the release of books about a week later occurred once them it might be a coincidence, but twice in a row means it probably what did the trick.

Unfortunately, HMP Parc is still holding the other books that I sent, so i shall take further action.
James was also visited by the police and his cell was searched. The police told him that THEY didn't think it would be a good idea for his writing to be put on the Internet.
Excuse me? If it were me I would tell them what they can do with their "legal opinion" on the subject. A solicitor, maybe, but not the police.

Good morning. Time to hammer the bastards some more. 😊
I shall send a letter to the Governor of HMP Parc explaining why she has no business withholding history books from James.

Good evening, I have just this minute spoken with Ash and he is once again back at Liverpool. He was moved from Nottingham on Monday without warning. Currently he is in a holding area waiting to get back on the wing he was previously at. This means he has no canteen until next Wednesday at the earliest but some of the other prisoners who he knew from his last stay have chipped in and provided him with some extra food to help carry him over till then. This also means any mail sent will be going around in circles and may never reach him at all, like the previous books I sent a couple of weeks ago. He also said he would like to call you, he has your mobile from the post card you sent but can't add it to his call list without an address.

Only minor changes. FYI @KTParis.
Template Withheld Books.docx

This is the template I mentioned, abstracted from a couple of letters that got the prison to release some books about a week later.
It stands to reason that such a template, because it drew a productive response, could be adapted with a little imagination to requesting remedy of other complaints. The most important thing is to make some reference to Law. In the case of books I can refer to the high court decision without citing it because the Governor would be expected to be aware of it. I believe that some such stick must be present in the letter, or at the very least a reasoned argument concerning prisoner welfare.
For example, an argument can be made that the "new" e-mail system consisting of one terminal for many prisoners is a decline of the prior e-mail service in which prisoners received a print-out of e-mail that they could take back to their cells.

Sent postcards to two prisoners who have had difficulty calling me for one reason or another. In one case maybe he had read the number incorrectly.
