He said that he waited until after his sentencing to reply. As a result of his sentencing and appeal he will remain in prison until at least January-February next year.

Curiously, he did not volunteer any details of his sentencing. That is a departure from my past experience when he was always forthcoming about the progress of his case. When I asked a friend who is more familiar with Vincent's case, I was told (I summarize here) that Vincent's restraint is because of meddling by a certain outside party who is unfriendly to this channel. I'll say nothing further on this.

Other than that, Vincent offered to paint for me a watercolour of anything I like, from a photograph. I'll have a think about what subject I would like.

In his recent message he said that he has written about, and wants to read about, much more than WW2. In particular, he is interested in religion, sociology and science. He is eclectic in his reading and hoovers up books on any subject that he happens to be interested in.

For example, he recently asked for books critiquing the relationship between man and technology. He mentioned Ivan Ilyich, and Jacques Ellul. He said he will read everything by Ellul once he is released.

I've sent him four books in that subject area so you might send anything else by Ellul and Ilyich, for example, or find adjacents. Ellul has also written on religion. French preferred but English OK.
