“Based on journalist Taylor Hudak’s highly informative exposé on the European Media Freedom Act (EMFA) published by Children’s Health Defense Europe, we have nominated Ilias Konteas as our Hero of the Week.

Ilias Konteas is one of the strongest voices and actors standing up against the EMFA proposals. Ilias is the Executive Director of the European Magazine Media Association as well as of the European Newspaper Publishers Association—the two largest trade associations in Europe representing the majority of European newspapers, magazines, and publishers.”

It was a great pleasure to meet Tucker Carlson tonight in Budapest. He was very kind and humble (despite it being a very brief talk.)

He gave a great speech today in Budapest, and I will post it on this channel shortly.

I told him that I was really concerned about the European Media Freedom Act (EMFA) and he said it doesn't sound good and took an interest in it.

In the European Media Freedom Act (EMFA) proposal, very large online platforms (VLOPs) and media services providers (MSPs) will be required to enter into a contractual agreement in which the MSP must declare it complies with the EMFA Regulation before it can even publish content.

Frequent violators, whose content is “a grave and serious risk to the public security,” can expect the contractual agreement to be terminated and therefore, will no longer have publishing ability.

Seen from this perspective, the Netanyahu government can hardly be suspected of being concerned about the well-being and physical safety of its citizens, such as it is claiming under the current Hamas attacks. Actually, the Hamas incursions enable the government to change the political agenda, to divert attention from the nefarious consequences of its policies and to continue in power.”

Updates in the case of Prof. Sucharit Bhakdi!

Following the not guilty verdict on May 23, 2023, the prosecutor filed for a notice of appeal on May 25. On June 27, Judge Grundmann issued the formal written judgment. A few weeks later on July 18, The Attorney General’s Office of Schleswig-Holstein notified the court it will fully appeal the previous ruling.

The written judgment will soon be available on the D4CE website in both English and German. I will notify this group once the document is available.
