Sri Aurobindo
(15 August 1872 – 5 December 1950)

• Aurobindo Ghose was born in  Kolkata on 15 August 1872..
• He was a yogi, seer, philosopher, poet, and Indian nationalist who propounded a philosophy of divine life on earth through spiritual evolution.
• He is popularly known as “The Prophet of Indian Nationalism”.
•The American philosopher Ken Wilber has called Sri Aurobindo “India’s greatest modern philosopher sage”.

Panjab University has developed a new variety of wheat called PBW RS1.

● The Ludhiana-based institution, which played a pivotal role during the Green Revolution to make India surplus in food grains by developing high-yielding strains, has bred a new wheat variety with high amylose starch content, known to reduce risks of type-2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.
● Eating chapatis made from this wheat — called PBW RS1, with RS being short for resistant starch — won’t cause an immediate and rapid rise in glucose levels. The high amylose and resistant starch, instead, ensure that glucose is released more slowly into the bloodstream.

The goal of this amendment was to increase the variety of reproductive options. However, despite these adjustments, the Indian context still faces numerous difficulties.
