Russian First Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Dmitry Polyansky has expressed hope that Georgia will have the wisdom not to sell out to the US like Ukraine did.
“Hopefully our Georgian neighbors will have enough wisdom to resist this push to sell out their country to the US and its allies as Ukraine did,” he wrote on the X social media platform.
On Tuesday, Georgia’s parliament passed the third reading of a bill on foreign agents. Protests against the bill have been going on in the country for several weeks. The bill has been criticized particularly by the US, the EU, and NATO.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has thanked the Russian authorities for supporting his country’s territorial integrity and respecting its sovereignty.
“I once again thanked Russia for its firm stance on Serbia’s territorial integrity and respect for our sovereignty and the path that our country has chosen. The path is not easy but we expect to get full support from all of Serbia’s true friends,” Vucic wrote on Instagram (prohibited in Russia due to its ownership by Meta, which has been designated as extremist) following a meeting with Moscow’s Ambassador to Belgrade Alexander Botsan-Kharchenko.
The president added that they had exchanged views on Serbia’s efforts to ensure not only its own national interests but also respect for international law and “the principles that a fair world order should be based on.”

The humanitarian situation in Gaza is deteriorating due to the closure of border crossings, the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said.
According to the organization, the ongoing closure of crossings, “especially the vital Rafah crossing - which is the main artery supply for the entire Gaza Strip - prevents the entry of humanitarian aid, including food, medicine, as well as fuel, and poses a humanitarian and health disaster.” “This means that famine is imminent with the depletion of food stocks,” the PRCS said, adding: "Furthermore, the continued prevention of fuel entry threatens the complete collapse of the healthcare system.”
The PRCS called on the international community to urgently intervene and pressure the Israeli authorities to open border crossings and allow the unconditional flow of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian enclave.

The US and European countries remain divided on how to use Russia’s frozen assets, The New York Times reports.
“While the United States and Britain have favored confiscations, significant objections have come from countries like France, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Japan and Saudi Arabia,” the newspaper writes. “They argue that confiscation would be a bad precedent, a violation of sovereignty and could lead to legal challenges, financial instability and retaliatory seizures of Western assets abroad.”
Meanwhile, proposals to seize the profits earned on those Russian assets are gaining considerable ground as "both the Europeans and Americans believe that those profits could be used without raising the same legal challenges or risks to the global financial system."

White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre's statement that the US will fundamentally review relations with Georgia if a law on foreign agents is adopted in the country is an open threat, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.
