TALKS
Crackdown on Russian journalists is continuing. This time it's Ivan Gorbunov a Real journalist who did lots of stories on corruption of Russian government officials. Ivan has been charged with possession of drugs. This case is an obvious hunt against real…
Wow ! Today all criminal charges were dropped ! This is unbelievable. Goverment actually listened to ordinary folks.
It's a true victory for Russian people ! A true victory of those brave people who went out to protest injustice !
Next great step would be jailing those crooked cops who framed Ivan by putting drugs in his bad and telling so lies that even an idiot wouldnt believe.
Russian cops are not the worst cops in the world, they wont shoot a kid with a toy gun(at least i've never heard that happen). And if you talk to them one by one most of them are really great guys, but system is too corrupt. It's no made to bring good out of them. Many of them go to police to protect people, but once they join they realize that their main job is not to protect all people, but to bring fixed sum of money to their boss and protect goverment, otherwise they'll never get a raise.
Today was probably the first time cops have actually backed down under public pressure.
It shows a tiny hope that maybe things could change for better in Russia🇷🇺

Quite often society offers us false heros, people who did nothing for us, but somehow they're very celebrated.
We celebrate generals, politicians, musicians, poets and actors.
I want to propose @Talks Weekly Hero commemoration.
But to me personally the most celebrated people should be those who made scientific and technological discoveries.
The most notable of these people do get recognized by Nobel prize, but I still think that they do not get enough credit that they deserve.
How do I measure the importance of the person for humanity ?
Simple. What would happen if we errase everthing this person ever done, how would that affect life of humanity?
Lets take a great actor Marlon Brando and compare him to this weeks hero Karl Landsteiner.
If we delete everything all the work Marlon ever done, we might lose some nice movies, but that's it.
But without work of Karl Landsteiner, hundreds or maybe thousands of people would die in hospitals every day, because blood transfer from one person to another would be almost impossible without his discovery of of blood groups.

He distinguished the main blood groups in 1900, developed the modern system of classification of blood groups.

Lots of people were not happy with ending of Game of Thrones. So Ramzan Kadyrov decided to do a remake. No need to explain who will win at the end of this new series.😏 😏😏
Today entered the age of Christ or Alexander the Great.(the age at which they died)
When Julius Caesar was in Spain he saw a stature of Alexander the Great and apparantly he cried because he had achieved so little at the age when Alexander had world under his feet. He would force force world under his feet a bit later.
Times have passed since then you dont necessary have to kill lots of people to leave your mark in history.
But you still have to be able to conquer people, nowadays it's done with technology.
Caesar couldnt even dream of conquering 2 billion people like Mark Zukerberg or Lary Page & Sergey Brin.
Population of Roman empire at its peak was estimated at about 100 million people.
There're 200 million active telegram users, so technically Durov at lease 2x times more influential than Ceasar.
I should do more.

⬛️ Its not a secret that I left Russia to live in Georgia. And in the last several days there is a big drama unfolding between these two countries.
I wasnt too hurry to comment on this new wave of animosity between these countries. However before i explain further I must make something clear: Georgian people say that they do not hate Russian people, they hate Russian goverment, especially Russian president Putin. And Russian people do not hate Georgians.
So what could have caused such a such a strong outcry from Georgian society that they went out to attack their own Parliament?
It was an asshole responsible for whole thing.
To be exact it was an ass of deputy of the Duma(Russian parliament) Sergei Gavrilov. This deputy had placed his ass into the wrong place - a seat of Georgian chairman of parliament, which offended all of the Georgians.
If you dont know the relationship between countries for last 10 years you might say - What a big deal he just sat in wrong place?!
Well there was a strong symbolysm in that act because for last 10 years Russia had occupied 20% of Georgian territory: Abhazia and South Osetia. The occupation happened because Georgians decided to change their politics and turn to the west.
Funny thing is that Georgian goverment is pro-Russian, since Saakashvili lost in elections in 2013 Georgia has been ruled by Russian oligarch of georgian descent - Ivanishvili.
And this is where the most "fun" part: Georgians don't like Russian goverment, but they keep voting for Russian oligarch. And all the Georgians I've met are more afraid of Turkey than Russia, despite the fact that they're at war with Russia not with Turkey.
You might think that this doesnt make any sense.
There's one thing that Putin understands very well -people afraid of freedom, especially ex-USSR people.
When You(country leader) free people up and let them build businesses, create their own prosperity, decrease goverment interference with peoples lifes. The result will be - country becomes very rich, people create lots of things, but people dont really like you that much, you didnt do anything for them - they did everthing themselfs.
But if you do the opposite: control everything, no independent business, no independent will, everything through goverment - in other words strong goverment.
Result: country becomes poor, but people odore you, because You give them everything. Your ratings are high, you or you pupet is chosen in every election.
We should change this injustice! We should adore people who give us freedom and hate people who enslave us. It's the only way to lead a great life. Take control.
Georgians did it once, hopefully new generation of Georgians will steer country into direction of freedom again.

Russia suspends Georgia flights after violent clashes
President Putin bans Georgian airlines from flying to Russia following a surge of violent unrest.
Trump decided not to ban Huaiwei. This guy sure knows how to stick to his words 😏

Nice explanation, but this method wasnt created by Putin or Trump, but both of these guys know how to "milk" this propaganda method to its fullest. If something is working well then lots of other people are going to use it. Humans have huge list of biases (see post my post 453) so there's plenty of propaganda to be made!

Why obvious lies make great propaganda
For leaders like Trump and Putin, telling big lies isn't about persuasion -- it's about power.
