🗓️ On 21 March 2024, the Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) adopted a positive opinion, recommending the granting of a marketing authorisation for the medicinal product Awiqli, intended for the treatment of diabetes mellitus.
The applicant for this medicinal product is Novo Nordisk A/S.

📋 Icodec, brand name Awiqli®, is a long-acting basal insulin gaining recognition for its potential to simplify diabetes management.
It will be available as 700 U/ml solution for injection in pre-filled pen.

🎯 Key features of ESD:

📌 Indication: Primarily employed for adenomas with high dysplasia or suspected early invasive carcinoma, aiming for complete (en bloc) resection to minimize recurrence risk.

🛠️ Technique: Utilizes an endoscope to access the GI tract and specialized instruments to dissect the lesion from the deeper layers of the GI wall after submucosal injection for lift creation.

🔄 Procedural steps (simplified):
