Ok I didnt explain the above post at all, but Bill Eastland is the local GOP Rules Committee expert. He is VERY involved and has a knack for rule making and rule changing.
He is working on the most significant change to the RPT (Republican Party of Texas) I've ever seen.
Rule 44 is the "censure" rule. It currently has no teeth as all it states is that when a GOP rep is censured it is "suggested" that they not run on the next primary ballot. Which we all know won't happen, incumbents have a head start and won't give that up.
Bill's amendment to Rule 44, which was fought tooth and nail at the last convention, is to change the language slightly to state that if a GOP rep is censured then they are BANNED from appearing on the next primary ballot. π₯
Bill has taught me so much and he helped me learn the convention process, how to submit resolutions, how to become a state delegate and more.
And he laughs at ALL of my quips. ππ€π
Love you, Mr. Eastland!!

I hope to have updates from the ground in Brazil very soon for everyone.
As we know their election system has no paper trail at all, and I would like to know how the People feel about that at ground level.

Sometimes I go out for some wine and steak and mess with my coworkers. I've learned a lot about Brazil working with these great people.

Oklahoma applying to become a sovereign state π
State Sen. Nathan Dahm filed Senate Joint Resolution 2, which would amend the state constitution to clarify Oklahoma as a sovereign state. The measure also says federal laws that violate the U.S. Constitution are null, void and of no effect in Oklahoma.
If Passed Would Be Put To a Vote By the People In the Next Election
"For far too long, the federal government has trampled on state sovereignty. This proposal is an attempt to restore balance between the state and the feds," Dahm, R-Broken Arrow, said in a news release. "This new language reiterates that the states are not subservient to the federal government. The states created the federal government, gave it the power that it does have, and reserved the remainder to themselves.β
